You're right... no one in LE is gonna bother with that scenario, but it sounds like a great basis for a scene in a movie. Quite honestly, the biggest concern God forbid, is that your real and traceable number is on the phone of a provider who is found dead somewhere. Obviously this is a horrifying thing to even bring up and the chances of this happening are hopefully nil, but if we're looking at downside risk you don't need me to tell you that shit like this can happen.

But I have had the same cell phone number for at least 20 years, and I have NEVER had an issue with any of what you seem to be worried about, and yes I have seen both agencies that I have used and AMP's that I have been to busted over the years, but never has any of it blown back on me.
My thoughts on the subject is that if you are using a burner phone to begin with, who even cares if LE contacts you if your number is in a hookers "little black book"? Soon as you get the first call from LE would be the time to dump that phone, not before.
....when the provider requests a phone call as an initial contact. If all goes well during the initial discussions then I'll give her my real cell number. But most providers (at least here on TER) prefer email as a first contact method.

your civvie phone uses, and some related location data, even if at different times, LE could identify you. My hunch is they wouldn't bother unless you were a big name at the busted agency, Jack the Ripper, or a congressman. But I'm no expert, just laying out a factor to consider.

I have never used a hobby phone. Although I did get a google voice number a while back, I never used it. No problems so far.\

it was a free phone I get 125 rollover min a mouth and have to call at least one hooker a mouth. when I get approved for a nother one I will get a new hobby phone.
Don't need a hobby phone.. Download apps which allow a second number that you can set up an account. As long as use phone within 30 days, you keep number. Don't need buy minutes either. Just download a game thru apps partners and get mobile minutes. When not actively looking for providers, uninstall the app. Your account will still be there when you reinstall. No need for a second phone and as long as you log off or uninstall, you won't get any calls from providers when you are with the wife.
I have a work phone and a hobby phone. I think its a good idea to keep two phones. Although I prefer email some times you just have to pick up the phone and talk to some one live. I have had experiences where some girls get really personal and start texting and calling me at all hours of the night. If that is your personal phone how would you explain that to your wife or girlfriend?
