Join Fetlife and hook up with some local groups, munches, etc. in your area. That is the best way to get some really good basic instruction, meet people in the area, and learn the ropes (pun intended).
Kelis, I wonder if there are classes offered in your area. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, there are classes on Professional Domination. Is that what you are interested in? I know that New York City has a very lively BDSM scene. Do you ever go there? Feel free to message me. I have more ideas.
