why would I want to help you hide your IP address?
If I were a provider, I'm sure having a list of known LE IP addresses could be very useful in screening. A VPN is a good idea for anyone doing anything on the web.Anyone use a virtual private network? It allows me to use a different I.P. address almost every time and exchange of data, my username/passwords to be encrypted on banking and financial sites, as it leaves my computer and returns from the site visited.
A provider's screener replied to one of my email messages telling me my I.P. address came up as someone the provider was trying to avoid. So capturing a provider's/hobbyist's I.P. address is another way of screening.
I know when we write a review, TER has an I.P. capture function when the review "record" is added to their relational data base to make sure a review is not coming from a provider's computer (network connection).
So.......anyone use a VPN to protect their computers when accessing the Internet?
I've assumed many providers screen via IP addresses, so screening doesn't always provide security for the client as well. I dislike when people utter that completely false phrase(I'm not saying people shouldn't screen) I'm just saying that "your safety doesn't necessarily guarantee my safety" I'll argue this point til I'm blue in the balls. I'm fairly certain you can create a dedicated IP address when you need one.

How would you "help me hide my I.P. address?"
Actually, my I.P. address changes every time I log into my VPN. Can only guess the person she was trying to avoid is using the same VPN. Chances are pretty remote but it must have happened as I am not he and at some point we both must have communicated with her using the same I.P. address.
Plus all data from and back to my computer is encrypted. I do this to protect my personal/business information from those who seek to capture it for nefarious reasons. A VPN provides me an added layer of security.
