The tricky part is this: SBs are more selective than providers, and the criteria varies from SB to SB. I once read a Sugar forum where one SB was giving a new girl some advice. In my situation it was like the time recently I was touring a $15 million dollar pent house in South Beach. It varies by city, but in any place other than NYC, LA, and SF, $200 per date for a decent, fun, attractive SB rated 7 to 8 seems to be the starting price for 2-3 hours or longer. In those 3 cities, the rates are higher. In any city, $400 or $500 should get you a very reasonable selection of 8s and 9s and possibly 10s, though not all of them.
A very rough rule of thumb is that 1 hour with a decent pro will cost about the same as 3 hours or so with a good SB in the same city.
I have friends who pay $500 for overnight with a 9, $400 for 2 dates with an 8, and $0 for an 8.5 (she get insulted at the offer of money). It can be VERY cost effective if you work at it.

And since I live in middle America, I *think* my experience will reflect what most guys on this board will run into, if they decide to try the sugar bowl.
Here's what I consider to be an SB:
Most of the SBs I've met are interested in an "Arrangement" where they're given an "Allowance". That's a regular hookup where they receive a certain dollar amount, plus occasional gifts. These girls typically are not providers. Many are college girls from middle class families who need money. They will consider a P4P arrangement, but they don't fuck anonymous strangers. An SB will want to see your photos before you ever meet. Your first date will be in a public place for lunch/dinner or a coffee date. This is P4P, but you can't approach an SB the same way that you approach a provider/escort. You need to understand that you're playing a different game.
Here's what I've found: you can get a beautiful SB to fuck you on a regular basis at the same rate that you're giving your ATF. But an arrangement = regular hookup + gifts, so you need to consider if you can afford her. --

The $200 figure is the LOWEST I'm familiar with. The OP asked about starting price, which I interpreted as the low end of the range.
