First line is bullshit as well. Just read serious people like alan aragon about meal frequency...

Organic isn't organic, often has as many or more pesticides as "normal" food.

Your metabolism will not be effected by 3 bites of pizza. If you want to give your body a break and make it believe that food is plentiful you need to eat at or above your TDEE for a few days. 2 bowls of full fat ice cream would be far better then the pizza unless you eat half a pizza.

I have no idea what you mean by stomach stretch. Fats aren't bad for you. AT all. They have gotten a terrible wrap. Carbs are bad for you either. Food is food. Calories are calories for the most part for most people.

Some recent studies are starting to show people that eat health all the time are dieing off faster. But like all the studies they are only as good as the next study. I mean they are still pushing the 50g of protein a day.. Why do body builders get ripped eating 200 to 400g a day? (steroids..)

It's all about smaller meals, more frequently and working out consistently and hard. I eat WHATEVER I want, but no longer how much I want.  When I was younger 30 minutes of cardio and weights did it... now, I do not do any less than an hour of running actual stairs (21 floors in my building) and weights to follow. Try to get that in at 5 or 6 am before I start posting ha ha ha.  For my height, I could weigh 100 lbs and still look curvy, so kinda sucks. I am 107 now and still look about 115. UGH!

I have been eating more organic foods, but it's still yummy tasting food not blan bs. Depriving the body of cravings is not good either, as it leads to binge eating. I am not saying every time you crave cookies you should eat them, but having a cheat day a couple times a month is actually good. 3 bites of pizza is still better for metabolism than 2 bowls of low fat, high sugar cereal... it's how much your stomach is being stretched that is the problem... not always fat and carb content. I like Body Beast and Insanity methods too. Talk about a work out. Sex does not really do shit for me calorie wise... just does not. At my frequency, that is only 1 or 2 workouts a week lol and most of it is my damn mouth.

A month ago I had the pleasure to meet with a provider who is into healthy eating.  She was articulate in explaining why I should go on a vegetable heavy diet, stay away from diet coke, and try eating wholesome food (Food Inc, Fed Up are the two movies she had me watch, and I was terrified)

I followed her advice and have been buying / cooking unprocessed food (mostly vegetable with some tofu mixed in)... now I've lost 7 lbs with just token workout (break a sweat with 15 minute cardio)

Pretty awesome stuff!

I also have changed my eating habits about 2 years ago after watching Forks Over Knives. I stopped eating animal protein and processed food. I also watched Food Inc, Fed Up, Vegucated as well as Fat Sick and nearly Dead.
I also do juicing every couple of months or when I feel I need it. I lost about 20 lbs and never felt healthier than now.
Good for her for inspiring you and good for you for changing into a healthy life style.
I do have one gentleman who followed my advice also and changed his eating habits just like yourself.

Please also watch Forks Over Knives and read about China Study.

Keep up the good work.

Pretty awesome it is!

& way to go girl! Passing on helpful knowledge!

I'm going to check those movies out myself!

I'm always looking for ways to better my life!

People (en masse) are very ignorant about how they eat.

They think, "I'm hungry" and grab the first pre-packaged CRAP they can get that they think suits their craving...

A perfect example....
McDonald's. (And I am a hypocrite, I will admit, I kill McDoubles when I am in a rush.... and I have a kid, so yeah, Happy Meals are constantly being begged for....)

But.....  How about my kid left a burger once, and once a few McNuggets under the seat....
You know, a week or two later, I found them.
No mold.
No sign of deterioration.

Reminds me of the "stick of margarine" video I saw....

If you take a stick of margarine and leave it on a plate, outside, even the flies & gnats won't touch it.
(I once read somewhere margarine is 2 molecules away from being plastic!!! PLASTIC!)

Our bodies are not made to process things like this.
Preservatives and god knows what other chemicals.
You might want to google MONSANTO.....

Again, when in doubt, grab the HEALTHY stuff prepackaged if you can find it, makes it much more convenient.
We are all more likely to grab & eat what is readily available.

And btw GOOD JOB! Losing weight isn't easy for a lot of people.
Keep it up!
Your body will thank you.
After all, it isn't a car, we only get one, no trade-ins, Mister & Misses!

Take care ya'll,
Fox

this made me stop ordering McNuggets for real.....

Time lapsed McNuggets.....

Yum.

No arguments about what is healthier, but this is the 21st century and there are 7.3 billion people to feed.

Leave a healthy banana out, improperly stored and watch it slo-mo turn into disgusting black goo.

Leave a healthy apple out, improperly stored and watch it slo-mo turn into a mushy brown insect covered piece of unappetizing garbage. Come to think of it, some sustainable food experts think we should be getting our protein from insects, not meat.  Yum!

Leave out a natural whole wheat loaf of bread and watch it slo-mo turn into a dried out brick that you can use to hammer a nail.

Come to think of it, how do we get fresh bananas in NYC?  By high-tech energy wasting highly mechanized transportation and distribution systems.  But we love our fresh bananas so keep those ships coming!  Fresh strawberries in December?  Flown in by jet from South America.

Of course, NY State apples just jump off the trees by themselves and roll down the thruway in the breakdown lane from upstate but apples from Washington and Maine have to burn diesel gasoline and pollute the air others breathe so we can have brightly polished red apples on the shelves.

If you can eat fresh and healthy, that's great.  If you are pressured by time and work and family and the economy you have to cut corners somewhere.  Not all processed food is bad food.  Not all unprocessed food is healthy by the time it reaches us city dwellers. Try to be aware of your food choices but don't go bonkers if you can't be 100% healthy-organic (whatever that is) all the time.

Some people think that high-fructose corn syrup Coke will kill them so they drink diet.  Some people think that aspartame Coke will kill them so they drink non-diet.  Some people think that fresh orange juice has more sugar and calories and that it will kill them.

They're all correct!  Even that super-healthy diet people squawk about will surely kill you after 70 or 80 years.

"If I knew I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself." - Mickey Mantl

And hobbying has helped me keep it off. Watch movies or read books, but don't diet. That doesn't work. Change. Change the way you eat, what you eat. and eat less. Get some exercise and don't eat between dinner and bedtime. Get healthy all!

All complete bullshit.

Your lost weight... 3 to 5 pounds of water and a few pounds because you stopped eating a bunch of crap and did a little cardio.

For the vast majority of humans. It is simply calories in calories out. Blah blah blah, I said vast majority.

Did you miss the guy that lost 30 pounds eating mcdonalds every day??

tofu, welcome to man boobs..

Sorry to burst you bubble. Its wonderful that you made a lifestyle change. I'm excited for you. I could get you to lose just as much weight eating what ever you like, in moderation...

When you start at 0 short term results from small/any change is amplified.

From a guy who lost a 100 pounds in a year, not doing what you did other then the lifestyle change.
