Spanking is hard work! I highly recommend the use of a flogger - your hand can get pretty sore. Further, you can use a flogger much more delicately than a full hand - which means that you can deal with the pussy, belly, tits and legs.
Spanking while fucking is pretty tough - if you can really keep up a good spanking in wheelbarrow --- my hat is off to you. In wheel barrow, I generally have both arms occupied.
