Now to the reality of things: There are no "precautions" to take. The only such thing would be if you didn't get it up at all, and that would defeat the whole purpose. Now, I will say this: some women are very put off by pre-cum. Dunno if it's the "fastidious gene" operating in the back of their minds, or they just get grossed out. Also, remember that you two are not madly in love - you're just trying to make mad love. When two people meet in an intimate situation, despite their best intentions, they may not like TMI [in this case Too Much Intimacy, LOL] after all.
All of this is highly individual. I must shamefacedly admit that if I have really nice sheets, I don't like ANY spots on them, whether they are left there by me, The Saint or anything or anyone else. But then again, why would a provider haul out the Frette 600-counts if she were really concerned with having a pristine bed?
So here, I'd have to say that yes, she was bothered and possibly also CONCERNED with the extra fluid. Yes, pre-ejaculate has been known to harbor HIV and other assortments of STDs. And, in this type of sexual roulette, no one is safe.
