No doubt Carroll sees the writing on the wall with possible sanctions, so why not get the hell out of town now. And yes the rumor is flying here that USC will go after Mike Riley of Oregon State. I doubt he would take it considering the possible sanctions. As a UCLA alum, I hope we get more than our fair share of the top SoCal high school players. Heck, we have Rick Neusheisel who doesn't have cleanest past in the business, but what coach does.

but I definitely thought he was better than Bates. Now to Bates somewhat defense as offense coordinator, he had a true freshman starting QB. Going from high school to starting as a freshman is a bit of stretch. Now on the flip side, he basically had just about all the skilled positions and offense line return. USC's problem was their defense. They couldn't stop the run if their life depended on it.
