New PedWest Crossing - Questions

Going to TJ perhaps a few times over the next month or so and I understand PedWest is open as of July 15.  I have not been to TJ in a while and I think PedWest is open to come back into the US only.  Is this true?

Anyway, I am going to drive to the border and would love insight into:

1. I usually park at the Border Station Parking and walk across the highway ramps/walkway and into TJ.  Is this still the best way or is the PedWest crossing INTO TJ open yet?  If so, is there parking closer to the PedWest entry?

2. Coming back into the US - it is usually pretty late but I usually drive back home after crossing back into the US.  Is there parking closer to the PedWest facility to make it easier to get to my car on the way home? Is the old reentry into the US still open?  I'd rather put up with a few more minutes on entry then on the return side (border crossing wait times of course are variable - I know).

Thanks for the help and guidance in advance

I believe your Border Station Parking is the best bet, for a quick exit. It will take you awhile to walk to Ped East to enter Mexico.  Ped West is exit Mexico only at this point in time.  Ped East is open in both directions but can be quite awhile to get through.

Let's start with I usually drive into Tijuana.  So my information is a couple of months old; however, things have been the "same old, same old" for several years so I doubt things have changed.

The parking lots east of I-5 charge a fee every 8-hours.  They are expensive because they are not 24-hour lots.

The Border Station and UTEP parking lots--both west of I-5--I think  are the better choice, although using them involves more walking, because both have (more of less) 24-hour rates.

The Border Station fee is from when you enter until 10AM the next day.  If, for example, you enter at noon on Friday you get until 10AM on Saturday, which is 20 hours.

The UTEP lot is a true 24-hour lot.  If you enter at noon on Friday you get until noon on Saturday, which is 24 hours

Things have changed and the UTEP parking no longer exists. Parking has got very expensive also, but I too don't park at the border.  I have read about $25 dollar a day parking on the weekends.

No idea about PedWest or parking around there since I haven't tried it yet. But near PedEast there is a $6/24 hour lot at the motel that is right next to the Burger King. Haven't had issues with safety, was very pleased. This is recent as of a few weeks ago.
