Great trip report!  Sounds like you had a great time.  If you're feeling brave enough, find a freelancer the next time you're down there.

Not going to do an extensive post like last time. Able to rearrange work schedule again to do a Monday late PM (after work) - Thursday early AM trip to TJ, so 4 days/3 nights.

This time around I only spent a total of $593 US which included everything -> transportation from LA, housing, food, misc supplies, and five paid sessions with 4 Hong Kong bar girls (BGs) + 1 street girl (SG) and lots of Off-The-Clock time with a lady I connected well with on my previous trip.

Why so much cheaper this time around (last trip spanning same length was around $1500)? Several reasons:

 (1) Weekdays are generally cheaper in every facet -> you can negotiate lower rates with all the ladies. Honestly don't feel the selection was any worse on the weekdays vs. my last extended weekend trip (Thursday - Sunday). Everyone I was with was at least a solid 8+, the lady I saw on Monday evening was a solid 9+ and was one of THE most attractive Latinas I had ever seen IMO. Keep in mind I'm a younger dude who is surrounded by/has dated Latinas here in California, so I'm definitely pretty picky.

Housing is for sure cheaper too during the weekdays. With the HK VIP card you actually get 20% off hotel stays every day in Hotel Cascadas or Hotel Rizo de Oro (where I stay), but it becomes 80% off on Monday and Tuesdays. Dirt cheap.

 (2) SGs are wayyy cheaper than BGs. Takes more effort to find them and I feel Spanish-speaking ability is more essential, but standard rate with them is around 300-500 pesos total for a 20-30 minute session, which is like $16-$27 US. A few of them are really attractive.

 (3) Again, using pesos for the majority of the transactions saves a ton of money. The clubs use an exchange rate of 16 pesos: 1 US dollar and some places/ladies use a rate even lower than that, and since the real exchange rate is around 18.75:1, the savings add up.

 Cheers.

Thanks! By freelancer do you mean....

...actually I don't know, haha. You mean using mi espanol and charm to pick up a local lady at a non-Zona Norte bar?

Well, I guess that would technically count, but generally, girls tend to get labeled depending on where they work.

Escorts advertise online and make out calls.  The girls who work in the bars are called bar girls and the girls who work out on the street (alley) are called street girls.

Then there are freelancers, who also work out on the street, but do so sort of under the table.  The bar girls and street girls are required to maintain a current health card...one of the many perks of legal/regulated prostitution.  The freelancers, for whatever reason don't have a health card, so technically they aren't supposed to be working, but do anyway.  They basically walk around La Zona until somebody snatches them up, as opposed to standing in one place in front of the hotel they work out of.

The police know they aren't legally working, so they often shake them down for bribes.  Knowing this, they rarely stand in one place for very long.  Hence their other nickname "walkers."

Many freelancers are incredible providers who will provide more than GFE for even less than a SG.  Most freelancers I've met have been incredible, but be careful because without the accountability of working out of a specific hotel, they can be a little more unpredictable.

Freelancers/streetwalkers sound even riskier than SGs (no health card, though I know not all BGs/SGs have an up-to-date one even though they're supposed to; maybe LE issues in seeing one since they aren't sanctioned escorts), though there is higher reward potential (cheaper and potentially better service?). Hm...

Are the majority of them still in the alley behind HK or are there other places one should look? Seems kind of hard to pick them out as well since any non-gringo lady I'm attracted to walking on the street is a potential freelancer by your definition -> how do you find them? SGs are fairly easy to pick out.

Unless you're really feeling brave, stick to the square block formed by the streets Calle Coahuila, Constitution, Ninos Heroes, and Calle Primera.  The "alley" cuts directly through this square.  I'd recommend studying it on Google Earth.  Basically, that's the "zone of tolerance" where prostitution (soliciting on the street) is legal, so you won't even find any SGs outside of this square.  Freelancers know most guys, especially those from the US, won't leave the main square, so they tend to hang out there as well.  Honestly, if any girl in the zone catches your eye, just say hello.  She will make it very clear she's working.  I've never approached a girl in La Zona who wasn't working.  And you hit the nail on the head...they're high risk, high reward.  But on second thought, as long as you keep your wits about you, 200-300 pesos probably isn't too much of a risk.
