Dang, a woman speaking geek is REALLY hot!!!!!

It doesn't have much to do with our fun and games with lovely ladies. Well in a way it does but it isn't the main reason I'm asking for advice. I have posed the question as a problem to the powers that be to no avail,They suggested trying Internet Explorer which I did and it was just as bad. I posted the question to the Newby Board with no solution.
I want to know if any of you computer gurus use Kaspersky anti virus program with Windows 7. I also use Firefox browswer. Many times when I am reading the messages on TER I get the following notice with  options to try again and to report this to website owners. I do both but after a few more messages I try to read it does the same thing. It's annoying I think it is caused by Kaspersky but trying to navigate through that is worse than dealing with the IRS.I anyone who uses Kaspersky and Firefox has any suggestions I'd appreciate them. Feel free to PM if you want

an issue seen with Firefox.  I have not ran into it on any other browser.  I use Chrome for all of my activities and have had very few issues with it.  I would try that.
If that doesnt fix it you'll have figure out who dictates your SSL settings.  Thats where the primary issue is.  Probably have to update the parameter mapping or something along those lines.

Thanks Leon I'll try Chrome. I'm not all that nimble with computer programs and thus I need help.
PS it happened when I read your reply.8o)

it did the same  thing on Chrome but chrome seems faster. I am hesitant to use new free programs because they all mess up my way of doing things.Chome, at least doesn't try to load a bunch of other programs.

Every so often, using my work computer (I know, I know, I shouldn't but what the hell.) which uses Windows 7 and IE, I find that I have to keep clicking on a link such as a post to open it, but sometimes even a link to open a new board over and over again, maybe 20-30 times over the course of 10-20 seconds before it will open.  What happens is quite strange:  The image of the link will double with a ghost image appearing that I can move around the screen with my mouse.  This happens just a few seconds before the link starts to open as evidenced by the rotating icon in the tool bar above.  Once I see that I can stop and the link will open in a few seconds.

This also seems to happen mostly in the afternoon as opposed to the morning, and only on my work computer although at home I also up to recently used a laptop with Windows 7 and IE.  I now have a new laptop with Windows 8 (Yuck, patooie) and IE, and have not had the problem.

This only happens on TER.  I go to lots of other websites and have never had this occur.

It started about 6 months ago, and has been getting somewhat more frequent during this time.  Over the course of a 20 minute session where I might be opening 20-30 links, it may happen 2-3 times, some days more, some days less.

Any idea of what causes this?  Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, I'm on TER Classic, if that is a consideration.

I am going to guess the reason you can't connect or have constant issues with connection to TER is because the website revoked it's ssl certificate. So there is one problem but it can be fixed. Now there are two things that may be messing you up, likely it is both.

First off, the anti-virus software (which I have never heard of) you are using likely is set to maximum security... so anytime you go to a website that doesn't have their certificate updated, you will have problems. This goes for any website that doesn't have an updated certificate BTW. There will be an area where you can disable the secured certificates. Don't worry about getting viruses from questionable pages as that is exactly what you anti-virus is setup to do and will protect you. It is pretty well automatic that the anti-virus is set like that unless you manually change it.

Second, roughly 6 months ago FireFox updated their security settings and is having many of the exact errors you are experiencing. There were some problems even before then but not as often before. Here is some direct help on how to fix that:

Mozilla added a new certificate verification feature to their Firefox browser (starting with version 31) called PKIX. You will need to disable this feature to use your own self-signed certificate. You may do the following to accomplish this.

    Open the Firefox browser.
Type about:config in the search bar and press enter.
If presented with the warning, “This might void your warranty…”, click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button.
In the Preference Name column, locate the security.use_mozillapkix_verification option.
Double click on the option to toggle the setting to false

***** Also, check to make sure security.ssl.enable_npn and security.ssl.enable_alpn are FALSE.

On a side note, I sometimes use IE but it tends to act up more than FF and it pure garbage when it comes to playing the apps on FB. I rarely, if ever, use Chrome. It works probably better than both FF and IE overall, but I have everything saved and bookmarked on the other two... plus I am just too lazy to change all of my bookmarks over.

I would say it is not TER, as it is very much your browser and anti-virus settings.... but I still have issues recently with delay of pms. Anyone else notice some pms are having the incorrect time and therefore popping up farther down on your in box list?

I hope this helps you. That sort of stuff can be real annoying.

IT Programmer is one of my three associates degrees. You know how "all" of the gals lie about our College Degrees :D

I did swear to myself the next time I go get one, I will REALLY use it. Apparently I just like learning and emersing myself in knowledge versus actually doing the career in the chosen fields I have pursued educational wise.

Actually I'm in IT too.. So, I love geek.. Now my customers hate me talking to them though

I can tell you that I use Kaspersky and Windows 7 and I have not encountered any problems using TER.

As mentioned earlier, perhaps it does have something to do with your settings in Kaspersky.

Try disabling Kaspersky and see it the problem goes away. Uninstalling/reinstalling can be a pain but that may help determine if it's causing the problem also.

I have kasperski with win 8.1 pro , works great , no issues at all . chrome , ff
