Most of the local comic book stores will be hosting really cool, fun events!
For example, Southern California Comics in the Kearny Mesa/Clairemont area is going all out! They're hosting several local comic artists, a gathering of Food Trucks and even a concert by a local band!
Oh, and for those of y'all who enjoy (superhero/heroine) cosplay, a few stores are having contests with prizes for cosplayers
FYI: Because this is being promoted as a "family friendly" event, if you cosplay, try to keep it PG/PG-13.
Save the more...risque stuff for TER-style "private" times 
Thanks for sharing I'll be sure to look into it. Saturdays are so fun for me normally so adding this will make the day that much better: farmers market, swap meet and now free comics! A most excellent weekend lays ahead!
