I doubt she's threatening you, if she has good reviews...sad_smile

When I'm on tour it gets extremely busy because I'm getting calls, texts, emails, and pms from multiple cities.  It's easy to make scheduling errors unless I'm very methodical about booking my appointments.  If I get interrupted before completing screening and an appointment request, it's easy fail to complete a booking and even to get one client confused with another one.

You did send an appointment request to her with a day and a time.  I agree with you, that without her reply saying you guys are booked, it wasn't booked.  But, that's probably where the mistake occurred, if she booked the day and time and didn't ever send you a confirmation.  It's pretty easy to make a mistake like that.  I've made that exact mistake multiple times.  I miss out on a good appointment almost every time I go to Chicago because of some similar mistake because I'm just so busy.

If she DID confirm that appointment and you just thought she wasn't coming because she wasn't getting back to you for the last couple of days, then its you both would have a good argument.  If you both agreed that there was an appointment booked, the other person needs to be very clear about canceling if they aren't going to make it.  This has happened to me multiple times, too.  Once there is an appointment request and I say we are booked, we are booked.  I can't always reply to pms, texts, emails, and voice mails right away.  Sometimes a message will get accidentally deleted.  Or, I plan on getting back to it later and then it gets overlooked.  I'm sure it's hard for clients to understand how very busy we can be on tour.

It would be pretty surprising if she was just shaking you down for a deposit.

Sometimes clients tend to take things personally when it's not personal at all.  Until we actually meet with you and get to know you, you are really just another appointment request.  No offense, guys.

Maybe try to explain to her again that there was no appointment because she failed to send confirmation to you after you sent the appointment request.  It's her mistake, but try not to take it personally.  It might be worth one more try to help her see what happened.

But, even if she doesn't take the time to look into it, if you have okays on p411, that will go much further than an obscure blacklisting somewhere.  If you have positive recommendations readily available, I don't think very many people will search for blacklistings

A visiting provider ran an ad on P411 saying that she would be in Diego 4/9 - 4/13. I never noticed an ad posted here on TER.  Anyways, a week before she arrives I send her a PM via P411 saying that she looks great and that I would love to meet her while she is here. She replies the same day, Mon the 6th, and says that would be great and to send her an appointment request. I send the request later that day saying that the only day that I can meet is for Monday the 13th and I give her a time frame to try and schedule a 90min session.  2 days go by and no reply from her. So I send a PM via P411 saying that I sent the appointment request and that I hoped Monday would work. So 6 days go by and I never get a response.  I check my email one last time last night at 11pm and still nothing.  I can also see that the last time the she logged onto p411 was on Tue the 7th. So I assume that she didn't even make it to San Diego for her visit. Since I never heard from her, I decide to go to work today.

After work, I look at the email account that is solely used for "fun" and there are 2 emails. One email from p411 saying that I have a PM on their site. I'm assuming it's her saying that something came up and she couldn't make her trip out here and sorry for never replying back. The other email is from her.  So I first decide to log onto p411 and see what it says. It's time stamped at 11:07am and it's a message from her saying, "Just now receiving this, sent replies to your appointment request. Hoping to still see you for your appointment at 1 today downtown"....ummmm WTF? What appointment? Doesn't an appointment require 2 people to agree to meet at a set time and place?
 A. 2 hours before you want to meet, you send me a message through p411 and think that I'm going to receive that in time to do anything about it?
B. I don't check that email account but maybe once a day and that's only if I'm trying to schedule something and I already assumed she wasn't scheduling with me cuz she had a whole week to do so, so why now, 2hrs before? C. There's a place for your phone number when you make an appointment request so why not text or call me to see if it's possible to set something up?

Anyways, the 2nd emal, the one from her personal account says that,
"Supremely disappointed to not hear from you today.  As you know, I reserved 90 minutes especially for you today and arranged my schedule in order to accommodate your request, so the no show has created quite the hardship for me, not to mention turning down other requests so that I could honor your appointment.  Please be advised of my cancellation policy (below).  I hope you will quickly resolve this"....Major WTF!?! There NEVER was a 90 minute reservation,  there was a 90min appointment request that I made a week ago and never got a reply to. So bottom line is that she wants me to honor this:
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations w/in 12-24 hours of appointment time = 50% of appt fee; if less than 12 hours notice, 100% appt fee. ...BTW the 90min was suppose to be 500.
I politely replied back to her email saying sorry for the no show, but there was a lack of communication on her part and that I never replied back to confirm an appointment so there's nothing that I can do for her.
I'm waiting for her response, but I just don't see where I did anything wrong for her to think that I owe her money for No showing on an appointment that was never confirmed.

Anybody ever had to deal with this situation before?

It's insane to think you would actually honor that "appointment" if she doesn't respond within a timely matter.  Personally, I would've moved on after not hearing from her by the next day.  Not only are there plenty of providers who take this seriously and promptly follow up with requests, but I'd consider her lack of communication to be a major red flag.  She might be the type that would decide to turn her phone off, or tell you "I had my phone on vibrate," meanwhile you're waiting in your car 30 minutes past the session time.  (Like they wouldn't think to check their phone when their client is 30 minutes late!)

Anyway, you have nothing to worry about.  She has no way of collecting that money from you, unless you were naive enough to place a deposit for the session.  The worst she can do is blacklist you, but then you have all of the correspondence to back up your story. You should post her name so others don't fall for her trap.  Remember, reviews are extremely powerful.  If she wants to threaten you (and I'm not saying she has), you can easily "put her on blast" by exposing this to various boards.

I don't think she's threatening me or trying to shake me down for the money. I just think she might have booked it on her end, but never replied via P411 or via email with me to confirm. The confusing part is that it appears as though she never even logged onto p411 until the day of the appointment request and then she apparently thought that replying back on the day of the appointment request would be sufficient enough to consider it scheduled or booked, even though I never replied back to her. So that's why I'm confused as to why she thinks she is due any funds for cancelling when it was never confirmed to begin with.
She still hasn't replied back to my email from yesterday informing her of the apparent mix-up on her end.
And, No, I'm not going to put her on "Blast", because I was hoping that she will understand the situation and just let it go. If she replies back in a nasty way and demands compensation then I'll reconsider.

Simply put. There's NO excuse. None! For anyone in this day & age, NOT to reply back.
The fact that she sends not 1 but 2 messages to two, almost simultaneously, one to (see you in 2 hours and one to bitch at you for being a No Show). Well, it says a lot about her character. Including that she lacks the common respect of replying back in a timely fashion.   She logged into P411 and she knew you contacted her. She logged into her email and she knew you contacted her.
So it's not about you *blasting her*. Rather it's her needing to take responsibility as an adult (which I assume she is??)
and offer you an apology for wasting YOUR time because she choose NOT to reply back and proceed with *booking/confirming a date. Yet she replied back to GET FREE money from you as a her form of YOU no showing.

Sorry dude. It looks like a scam she's pulling. A way to get FREE money for nothing. Regardless of who she is.

I booked an appointment 3 months in advance before heading to Arizona on vacation. This was a little different than your situation but in the end I got to Arizona and I had already contacted her and made arrangements and everything was set except the day I got there I never heard from her.I called and called and left messages and I was just completely ignored.what happened in my situation was she probably got A longer appointment and just dissed me. I tried calling a few other providers but everybody else was busy and so I ended up holding my own. When I tried to leave a review of what went on of course it wasn't allowed to be posted.
