and this is coming from a guy who has been going to Latin America, including both Colombia and Venezuela, for the better part of fifteen years now.
Drop me a PM, and I may be able to at least put you on the right path, but PLEASE, be very careful anywhere in Mexico right now. Well anywhere besides Cancun and Cabo that is, which really aren't Mexico IMHO.
I was just telling Kelly W. that the last time I was down there the borders were a mess because some bad guys took out several people with AK 47's in front of the court house in broad daylight. Crossing into the U.S. took hours.
Mexico is like the Wild West with automatic weapons and zero fucks given.

I'd make sure your life insurance is paid up before you go....
I've spent a lot of time in Mexico and hobbying is the last thing I'd do there. Especially in Mexico City.

I just got back from Poland and had the best hobby experience of my life. I like seeing various cultures approaches. But this thread is making me think twice???? But my curiosity......
The last time I was in Mexico City I stayed at a western hotel in La Zona Rosa and felt safe. There are also a few nightclubs and bars that have variations of take out there. Obviously be careful and have any woman you meet go to your hotel with you -- do NOT go with them to their apartment or hotel and NEVER go with an "agent" to meet a woman elsewhere. (While this is not necessarily unusual or particularly unsafe in places like Prague or Shenzhen, in Mexico City it will likely get you robbed and may get you killed!) It helps if you speak Spanish. Naturally, you need to use your head and NOT do this after a few too many drinks.

We connected on Whatsapp and she was friendly, funny, helpful, and spoke english....she helped me arrange my schedule every day, emailed me accurate and honest pics, had a half dozen lovely ladies to coordinate with, more than what was on the site. Contrary to any posts made above, I found Mexico city (DF) to be safe, thriving, fun, super cool place with tons of heritage. The food was amazing, would go back in a heartbeat. Altitude took me off guard, as did the Smog. But on a clear day was absolutely stunning.
