Yes -- and thanks very much.  Thunder

Hi I would appreciate any 4 or 5 star Hotel recommendations is SD.  I have a friend coming there and neither of us know the Hotel scene.  Thanks very much for any help you may have for us.

Some of my favorites

Downtown: Hard Rock, Andaz

Coastal: L'Auberge, The Grand Del Mar

North: La Costa Resort

Downtown to start with, or do you recommend other areas where business is good. The area is very important first so she can have a full booking.  Thanks very much GoldieKnox.

If so then downtown isn't ideal as parking is usually pay to park
Mission Valley is busier for business but not very high end
Unfortunately for touring/working the hotel scene where it's "busy" isn't the most high end, more like big chains like Hiltons and Ramada options.

Honestly I have heard SD isn't the best touring town and I think it may be the hotel issues so keep that in mind (or have her keep that in mind).

Located in the vibrant and sexy downtown Gaslamp District:
lovely upscale well-appointed rooms, with
exquisite service are
The Andaz Hotel
The Omni
The Palomar

And I'm also located there too!  ;)
Enjoy your stay!

Some that were not mentioned:

My ATF is Hyatt Marina accross from Sea World.  Lovely views & an awesome pool with 3 water slides.

Another is in Coronado it is the Loews Hotel & Resort.
