I'm not convinced that Shanahan is the answer for the Redskins. He only won one playoff  game in Denver in 10 years after Elway retired.

There are reports that Shanahan signed a 5-year, $35M deal with the Redskins. At the press conference, Shanahan was introduced by new GM Bruce Allen. Dan Snyder was not there, a first. Shanahan has final say on all football decisions. Maybe there's hope for the Foreskins yet!!

And I also feel (opinion only) that one of the things Shanahan and Allen had to have was control with no interference from Snyder before they would agree to work for him.

and I have spent a lot of time in Denver during the football season. No doubt Shanahan is a great x & o's coach. But his draft selection the last couple of years has been below average.
Check it out.

I am not a Redskins fan, but anything Danny gets involved in the NFL turns into shit.  If he hires Shanahan, he should be totally hands off for the next five years...let experienced hands get you to the promised land...

Time will tell.

But, frankly ... it's a step in the right direction.  The Skins under Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan will get a good set of coaches, and get players who are hungry to play.

All those high-paid underachievers will be kicked curb-side.   And, that would be awesome.

It's good to see Danny taking a backseat for a change!
