END OF MESSAGE

I recently contacted a provider and she asked me to be screened a site called Escort Chex. I have never heard of it and it requires your credit card info for a $0.00 charge. It just seems a little risky to me, has anyone heard of/used this verification method before?

There are plenty of ways to screen. This sounds like a scam.

And a Nairobi prince has millions if dollars for you, if you just help him get his money out of the country.

I have a similar deal out on Nigeria ... I'm starting to think it may be a scam.

& desputing charges...   Don't do it!

"...I thought, why not, TOFTT. I noticed the website in question seemed to have some broken functionality (as a web developer by trade this annoyed me on a professional level). As I signed up (it kept saying no charge, and I was wondering how any information I gave would "validate" me). After registration it brought up another site within a portion of the first site, which seemed suspicious behavior. The embedded content I thought was an iframe, nope, just some sort of weird embed.

I then received a receipt for my purchase from the site with a $39.95 charge. I immediately contacted customer service and was informed I had a free 2-day trial and I would be billed for that amount after the trial period. I immediately canceled that account..."

Tracking the domain registration it's just over a year old, is hosted in Austin TX but also shows as being in the Virgin Islands depending on where you look.  The escortchex.com website shows less than 3,000 escorts are using it, and the few images it has looks a lot like what the Lux Verify app is supposed to do as well.  Buyer beware.

Edited to correct spelling and remove the link to the external site where the discussion above originated; otherwise the post would be rejected again.

before service is rendered is a bad sign.

One should never ever give their credit card numbers to any non-reputed and unknown merchants. If you don’t know the merchant and have to ask whether someone else know them is a sure sign that, you should not give them any personal information.

All kinds of bad things can happen.

All providers are a virtual "unknown" to the individual.

Do you give Providers your Credit Card Information?  The hobby is a CASH business for a reason.   These SCAMS crop up from time to time...  have you run tineye or google image on the pictures?  Odds are they're not even a real provider...   some dude stealing CC info from other guys.

I encountered a well reviewed provider in Brooklyn directing all first time clients to this service. I would never give my CC#. What gives? Maybe her "reviews" aren't genuine? Or are guys willing to do this? Anyone?

This is the one he was referencing... it seems like she has exactly the same prices as the one in Chicago, which are just too good to be true anyway.  I smell a scam.  How do these people get multiple reviews on TER?

I am hoping that they are both legit and maybe they could use a different way to verify clients.

If you google the phrase -
"I use a screening service called Escortchex. Verification is processed instantly and at no cost to you."

-you can pull up 5 or 6 similar 'independent' escort websites.  All of them have slightly lower than market rates.  All of them have few or no reviews.

Smells awful lol

Here is another girl who asked to go through escortchex in Arizona...same pricing

Also is a 'Lovely' like one of the other links

Weird thing is, the reviewer seem legit, I have seen one of the girls he reviewed.

I'm staying away

She just asked me as well. Still not sure how she gets the good reviews????

Another recent one:http://www.theeroticreview.com/reviews/show.asp?ID=281331
Alas... SweetieMegan.com is owned by the same people.
It's too bad because the reviewers look legit

I had the same bad experience with this provider. I still don't know how these guys have seen her unless they are part of the scam. I had to cancel two cc.

It's a scam. An escort on this site under the name of Alice uses it. My cc got charged $39.50 NOT $0.00. Had to cancel the card. Avoid escortchex.com and avoid  TER 279197 OR http://arizona.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/college-girl-with-all-natural-curves/33279302. All fake.

Found another

http://www.theeroticreview.com/reviews/show.asp?id=277871

At least with her the content seems to be removed, including all reviews.

I saw a new review for "Pam" today and contacted her via email. She responded right away and requested I fill out a form on Escort Chex. I tried but the page wouldn't respond to the button for "get started" for verification. I even registered and gave them a credit card which triggered a $1.00 pending charge that triggered my bank to consider it fraud. I allowed the charge (hopefully it won't be a big mistake so I've got to keep checking my account to make sure there are no charges being made).Once I completed the registration process all I got to were a bunch of webcams, not to the verification process to book Pam. I emailed Pam and told her the site doesn't work and am awaiting her reply. If Escort Chex is indeed a scam, then perhaps Pam doesn't really exist and is part of the scam. I'll let you all know once I determine if she is and will also alert management of TER so maybe they will remove the review of her. Stay tuned...

"Pam" stopped replying to emails and CCRATEDOC.COM - the entity to whom I gave my credit card info indirectly when I filled out the registration for Escort Chex - tried to charge $49.95 to my card which got declined as being fraudulent and now my card has been deactivated and a new card is being sent to replace it. I have to assume that there is no "Pam" and that she's a front for Escort Chex and will notify management of TER immediately.

What puzzles me is that the person who reviewed her has reviewed a number of top-rate providers so one has to wonder if he's legit or if his account has been hacked so that a review could be posted using his credentials. I intend to PM him to see if he had to use Escort Chex in order to book "Pam".

TER Support shut down the false review and removed the so-called provider "Pam" who asked me to use Escort Chex. I had complied with her instructions and promptly got my credit card info put to use fraudulently by Escort Chex or their subsidiary that they front for (some webcam website).

Moral of the story: Escort Chex is a scam and don't give your credit card info to any site that promises not to charge you but claims to need it to verify you.

In my case, no harm was done and no money lost and the net result was the removal of the fake review and fake provider and TER gave me a 10-day extension on my subscription. :-

I replied to this provider (id=281331) with two very real looking reviews (i.e. reviewers with multiple prior reviews of known providers).  Her voicemail requested an email which subsequently directed me to the Escort Chex.  Luckily someone pointed me to this thread.

How do I inform TER of this additional scammer?

I never ever use my CC in this hobby.  Anyone who needs one is usually scamming people.  Also look what happened to AM.
