I live in the desert so I was around for the World Seriesyear, when Johnson was on, there was no feared more than him . But far as a good guy, well at least the D backs had Gonzo, to make up for the Big Unit. I guess it will boil down to, did he piss off enough sports columnists who will vote against him on the first ballot.

I certainly agree with CY-300 wins-nuff said-1rob...and I think John Kruk would agree too-smile.....OUT

Yes. The fact that he was not popular with the media should have no bearing on that. If any sportswriters leave him off the ballot on his first try for that reason, they should be banned from voting ever again.

I can't imagine having to bat against him. I batted against a guy playing American Legion ball who was 6'8" and it seemed like he was letting the ball go 3 1/2 feet from the plate! Struck me out looking 3 times and then I took him deep the last time cause I basically just closed my eyes, listened for the ball and swung as hard as I could! LOL
Chipper Jones was one of the only guys I ever saw who didn't look like he was afraid to dig in against Randy. Saw him hit 2 homers in one game off him a couple of years ago at Turner Field.
