I have no prior references, but they say they can verify me if I provide my firm's name & phone along with my personal work email/phone. They say not to worry, but I can't help but be concerned with their contacting my work. I would be embarrassed if the lady in HR said, "By the way, someone called in with an inquiry about you."

Is it generally safe? Should I be concerned?
If they have a good rep, then I wouldn't be concerned. They can make up some innocent cover story to check on whether you work there and that's all they care about.
If you are uncertain of the agency, ask on your local board if anyone there knows them and can vouch. If not, then I'd avoid the risk.

Even if you were contacted you do know you have right s and you dont have to talk to any one sans lawyer. You can say i want to call my lawyer, and just keep saying that. nothing else, Only way yud get in trouble is if you allowed them to intimidate you into saying something incriminating about this service, and then you the rat would be the sole reason theyd have a case and be able to further obtain more search warrants,
I heard this story from a client he was a lawyer n he said this lady was in same hotel room like a long time, running 5 a day in and out, and how they got her,

they began pullin the johns aside comin out, sayin " hey what were doin in there? Cuz we know what she is doin and if you DONT fess up NOw, Your name and picture is goin in the paper too when we take her down."
NOW mind you these johns didnt know thier rights or the law and they snitched, This gave probable cause to go in and take her down, And the story goes that she ended up callin this lawyer client of mine from a jail cell and that is basically how they took her down, Simply by having her johns all turn informants on her on the way out because they were sort of scared into it, clearly not knowing that they NEVER have to talk to police with out a lawyer and they couldve just stayed quite and she was i guess states and states away from home as this happened.
that is one war story i heard over the years via through a lawyer.

I always have been careful if i am suspicious I may be hot, or things are hot where i am i never let johns leave alone, i make sure i am accompanied them i dont want any ne doing this to me, ..
I dont think yu have anything to worry about, unless your like a notorious gangster that you think the feds would have an actual hard on for if they unfolded your info during a raid,
I think the service has more on the line than you, They are the ones that have to be worried that the actual johns will all turn on em to get off when they if they do get that phone call after a raid and the client list is exosed. They got more to worry about concerning you opening your fat trap to investigators that could call the client list when tryin to build a case.
They are the ones thatl be lookin at runnin a house of ill repute, Tens years min fed sentence for that. OR pimpin and panderin. I know a girl that caught that charge in vegas.
unsure what charges theyd face and how much max time served but they got aot more to worry about than you.
just remeber you dont ever have to talk to police and you have a right to remain silent and use that one phone call to call your lawyer you have on retainer or whatevr.
your best bet be to talk to a lawyer that actually knows laws, a criminal defense lawyer. Do you have any associates in law?
I always ask all my law questionsto my lawyer friends not randome hookers n johns but i d honestly suggest askin an actua;l criminal defense lawyer, And educate yourself inside and out on this, Nothing worse than blindly goin into things and not knowing what your gonna do if shit goes down,

over all for me, i like have to call and talk to a non paranoid client friend cuz like you my imagination goes and i begin to get overly cautious . Hell if i told you the amount time i paid for rooms then just got so dam freaked out i didnt take a call!
i get it , it can be dangerous and no one wants to get arrested. or hurt. to really reasure yourself tak to a lawyer, a good one, if your really that concerned get a criminal defense attorney on retainer , just the piece of mind it will give you may help you sleep better at night.
I know i have one the best defense attorneys in boston as close friend and know his number by heart!

There are some amazing agencies out there that really do there darn best to keep a clients information safe and protected. But those I have come to learn are few and far between. Remember Governor Spitzer and the whole Emperors Club debacle? In that case the agency came down and so did a high profile client and it essentially ruined his career (although I think he has been trying to make a comeback). Like that, there are so many cases in history where public figures and regular gents who were patrons of one agency or other paid the price even if the majority of clients were "average Joes" due to simply one or two high profile clients that the investigators were going after.
So its best to be safer than sorry and do double the research you would normally do before choosing one agency over the other.

Going through an agency will generally be far more risky than using an Independent escort who has a pristine reputation. The larger the organization, the bigger the risk. An agency is really only as good as its weakest link. If a disgruntled employee comes forward, which they have in the past, the whole agency could come down and with it, your personal info. I think the bigger question is how risk averse are you or maybe a better way to put it is how "bullet proof" are you? Very few people are, but some can also tolerate the psychological stress better than others. Once you give up that info, you can never get it back. It is "out there" forever. Depends on the size of the company. The bigger they are, less the information they give out. In many cases, big companies use a third party for employment verification and you to set it for anyone to verify your employment information.
Publicly held companies will only give very minimal information such as, your start date, your salary etc. Even to get that, they have to have your SS# which you are smart enough not to provide.
From the information they are asking the possibilities are:
They are going to send you an email at your work address and as you reply. Sort of verifies you work there. Same with the phone number, when they call either you answer or it goes to the voice mail and voice mail greeting uses your asking them to leave a message.
These days, any employer worth a penny and especially in the DC area know they are not supposed to give out personal information because your personal information is protected by the law
be the reply if the provider is asking as a company where Mr. John was seeking a loan.
It's ok if the agency is South Korean. OTH if it's North Korean then "no" -you don't want to end up like Sony, LOL
