You are entirely correct. If this were not the case, the Democratic candidate would be unelectable. So perhaps a thank you to the republican party is in order - an Obama presidency would be a direct result of republican incompetence, and nothing more, of substance, anyway.... of course, at the end of the day, none of this really matters, because the people who really own this country will win either way, since they own the candidates. Welcome to the 1890s.
