But I am very interested in exploring my dom side. I am quite sure though that it hinges on a certain degree of trust. I believe the idea is to push the envelope very close to the boundaries without going past them. Of course "safe" words must always be honored. I enjoy the idea of the mental aspects of the dom/sub game.

Okay Ladies. I know he is rich, and you would eat his undies, but...
Are you seriously okay with the domination part? I mean the way it is portrayed?
This isn't Frozen, or Beauty and the beast here....
I don't think its cool to glamorize Sadomasicism to people who have no clue to how dangerous it can be.

What say you beasties?

Guys too.. Should have some protection vibe going on there!!

There are some total freaks in this community.

Do girls like a dominant partner?  YES!

Ok, not all of us, but sure.. Dom man/sub woman is a pretty common fetish.

with a provider, who can you play wild with?  It is play - hence the expression Pay 4 Play.

PS - I have never seen or read 50 shades of grey - probably something I need to do just so I understand the references.    I am not sure what the "middle school" reference from the OP is all about....

50 Shadez Uv Gray is rilly, rilly badly rittin!

Titillated sexual adventurers are hardly likely to do harm.  What are you concerned about, exactly?

I just think that movie glorifies something that should be practiced?
To Put a man in that position of dominance without know how could, and will hurt many stupid girls who think they are cool by rein acting something they saw on a TV screen.
It also encourages young men to do something to women they know nothing about.
plus it ruins everything about the fun of it if I have to worr

I haven't seen the movie, or read the book, but I am now lol!

I'm not into violence or any of that BDSM crap.  I don't even know exactly what that is..?  I thought we were taking about "normal" Dom/sub stuf

kind of long but it mentions how people really into BDSM say this gives a false picture of BDSM and could be a danger to the uninitiated.

The pleasure of dominating and the pleasure of submitting is what sex is about. How could it be otherwise? Every position puts on or the other in control, and a submissive may try to hold back but eventually surrenders in orgasam. If you extend this aspect, you get the sado-masocistic realm. It's not like asking a virgin to bear your first born and throw him into the roaring fireplace to prove her love and total embrace of the wild and free side of life.

I haven't read 50 Shades of Darker or 50 Shades of Freed, but as far as erotic fiction can approach art, it appears that E. L. James qualified for the job.

Didn't see the flic either. Was it any good?

As long as domination session is sensual , arousing and exciting the orgasm will be controlled, you will get plenty of teasing, so the session will not be boring.
Also role play dominatrix /submissive added to all I mentioned will keep things entertaining  the whole session.
I been sensual dominatrix for long time so if you want details email me here on TER and I will reply with my phone number.

I loathe this author more than Scoresby

She wrote this book as a Twilight fan fiction if there's any indication of originality.

This is a book about sexual abuse and rape. Not BDSM. And its shameful. Of course that's just my humble and disregarded opinion.

I'm leaving the thread to go participate in actual BDSM/kink activities where all parties are consenting.

...about the Twilight thing. They agree with you about the inaccurate portrayal.

I think it's hilarious the uproar and the anticipation this movie has brought on since it's inception.

It's a sick twist on your classic love story. Nothing more.

I mean I highly doubt she was attempting to reinvent the wheel here lol.

It's about hype. And you can always count on the media in that regard...always.

Guess who's going to the bank at the end of the day?

End of story. Smart woman in my book.

in the lifestyle and I am sure it probably helped out a few marriages along the way.  It has interested me for several years now and I have friends who live this lifestyle everyday and are very happy together.  A true Dom/sub relationship is based on trust and respect. I think there is nothing sexier than a real calm dominant man who has a presence about himself...but I feel the submissive has the ultimate control.

The Story of O was first published in 1954.  I wonder what they asked about THAT?

(I haven't read 50 SoG, so I don't know how SoG and SoO compare, sadomasochistically speaking.

I read the 50 shades trilogy about 2 years ago. I had not heard of the Story of 0 till recently, a client of mine bought the book for me since I had been talking about the foreign film "Venus in Fur" which is also a must see on this topic. If you email me in a few weeks I'm sure I'll have The Story of O read by then and would be happy to give you my thoughts on one vs. the other.

50 shades of grey is pretty average as a novel honestly.  Not sure why all the hype.  I have a GF who does book reviews and on her suggestion I read it then read another she suggested and it was 10 times better in every way.  Story, grammar, and the naughty bits.  Fifty shades got big purely on coincidental factors.  On a personal note all of us have seen the XXX version of this book 100 times why in the world would anyone waste their time to see the watered down version.  Wild S&M, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.  Who cares?  Mind boggling.

as a "society" we have a plethora of followers.

People on average are more comfortable following the pack, than leading the masses.

In our strange and shadowy corner of the  world we get to  witness and participate in a most forward  leaning  adventure  in human  behavior. Willing and consenting adults freely engage in the trade of various forms of sex for money. Some forms may seem outre and others are downright  pedestrian but by and large we tend to  like it as it is.

But we live in a  country that takes its sexual  repression  seriously. Kids are denied  basic sexual education, a naked breast on television is cause for Congressional  hearings  and sex of any stripe in a mainstream movie provokes the kind of  over analysis we are seeing now. The whole thing is  unhealthy, unhelpful and ultimately stultifying. We are still  very much like a  bunch of children groping our way to real understanding and hampered by our own childish fears. Which is really difficult given that we're  expected to manage this adult equipment we've been given to  play  with.

And in this golden age of consent there remains the troubling question of what  consent means. If we're really self unaware little  ids and egos running around do we really consent or just make accommodations? The dynamic in the book suggests the woman  is desperately trying to hold onto a man rather  than consenting to rough sex. But if she's  over 21 and is not being  held against her will how far do we push that analysis?  Do we extend it to P4P and if so do we say a lady hasn't  really  chosen to do this because her hand was forced by economic circumstances?  Fuck if I  know. And I'm not about to  become so patronizing and condescending as to suggest I know  what's better for any adult woman than she does. But I'm still left disturbed by the parts of the book where  consent is unclear or ambiguous or even contrived.

Which is to say that all a book such as this can really do is titillate and spectacularize and eventually provide false comfort. Deep thought  ain't its purpose. Which means the author understands well America. We're  like a country full of teenagers--all this newfound  freedom and power and no self reflection or understanding. Especially when it comes to sex.

And, no doubt—-she tapped a gusher—-this is brilliant. It is.

The writing is terrible. The narrative is awful. The alliteration is laughable. I’ve seen better writing by kids in grade school. She’s made millions. Whether the author did this deliberately, or not, she hit this one out of the park. She tapped an undercurrent with the masses in an almost unprecedented way.

But, I think you’re spot-on to be left disturbed by the parts of the book where  “consent is unclear or ambiguous or even contrived”. Many others feel the same—-myself included (obviously).

It would be one thing if this had been adopted by a limited audience. Terribly written books, with sexists messages get published all the time. It’s fiction. People write bad books. Publishers buy what they hope will sell.

But 50 SOG is massive.

Now this has broken through the ‘mommy porn’ fence to the big screen. There is a whole generation of young people who have grown up with the internet who have been so influenced by watching porn, from a very young age, as to have absorbed some pretty skewed ideas about sex. No one…NO ONE should have questions as to what consent means.

Having a franchise like 50SG so (almost) universally presented as a fun, sexy, perfectly acceptable  way to interact with women, while not only passively passing on every opportunity to comment on the need for consent, but overtly communicating that none is required is……yes….disturbing

It’s horrible erotic writing to boot.

I found it cringeworthy and cliche on every level. Soooo bad that I could barely get through the first chapter, then a few excerpts farther in hoping, in vain, that this was a joke——shaking my head and thinking: “seriously WTF?”

It’s not even close to an accurate representation of responsible/consensual BDSM. In fact, the whole concept of consent got tossed entirely. It’s a creepy celebration of a woman with horrible judgment and, apparently, no free will who [willingly—-but really unwillingly???] submits to an arrogant, controlling, self-admittedly 50 shades of fucked-up asshole——with basically a—- ‘hit me in the head with a sledgehammer’ narrative that screams:

“when a woman says no she REALLY means yes”.

In no particular order:

She’s known this guy for about 3 minutes. He shows-up, in her bedroom while she’s sleeping, uninvited, without ANY prior discussion!!. Fucks her. No questions asked. She’s OK with this. Likes it. Check.

She’s uncomfortable with succumbing to his request to totally dominate her. But, she goes along anyway without ever making a decision to explicitly agree. Check

She does something he doesn’t like so….yep…. he punches her in the face. Check.

He punishes her without consent. She doesn’t like it, and she wants him to stop. But he is so irresistible that  she can’t bring herself to say no. Check.

She agonizes about whether she should let him completely dominate her, determines she’s not going to do that. He expresses the slightest disappointment and she immediately forgets her reservations and loses all resolve. How can she possibly resist (again)?! Check.

He gets her drunk on purpose—-to loosen her up——check.

UGH. Double UGH.

It did sell 90+ million copies in 4 months, and is going to make big-bucks at the box office. That is freakin' impressive. And fucking sad.

(want me to tell how I really feel....? lol...

This book could be great fun for a party. A few glasses of wine, open the book anywhere, at random,  and have people read passages out-loud, with passion! There are more than a few that I don't think I could get through with a straight face.....lol..

It was piss poor badly written Twilight Fan fiction, and to me its coersion and borderline rape, didn't like it when it was crap fan fiction, don't like it as a "Novel" either. But to each their own.

You have two options:
1. To arrange a date with a dominatrix who has a dungeon you will end up getting sadistic domination session (chains, dangerous sharp objects laying around ad being used on you etc.
2. Arrange a session of sensual domination (in which which teasing and nudity is most probably involved and you will end up getting release too) at your hotel or house with an out call provider is different thing.
Advice: You Better off if you chose second option
If you want details email me here and I will give you details about it as I do these kind of sessions all the time

Not everyone's undies taste great...not everyone wants to sell their soul...But everyone has a dark side.

Try A.N. Roquelaure's (Anne Rice's nom de plume) Sleeping Beauty Series.  It's quite fantastic!

Just read there will be a new book & a television series based on it as well!!

Wrote a serious paper on it in my college lit class, thought my prof was gonna shit his pants lol
