disagree with you on Verne Lundquist. Best golf announcer there is.....some of the best calls ever - Nicklaus and Tiger.
He also is good with SEC football.

I detested when he call Amani Tooomer the best dressed - ugh, Jonathan from it's a wonderful life Stewart, Mike from 60 minutes fame Wallace, the stupid antics go on.

I'd have have to put Hawk Harrelson at the top of my list.
I've always thought Dick Stockton was pretty good but he was way off his game last night. Like I've stated before I just don't pay much attention to the announcers for a game and I don't get bent out of shape when my team gets criticized or the other team gets too much praise.
I always felt one of the best "color men" I've ever heard was Tony Kubek when he day NBC Baseball's Game of the Week. Sad day when he retired.
Al Michaels is the king these days, IMHO.
(Ok, technically these are anchors, not announcers) ESPN use to be great before it became a try out for the Improv....Now, it's just anchors making awful attempts at humor at every turn..

at their poor attempt at humor, spot on. I will admit I do like Jon Gruden on MNF. He was a bit insider for me at first, but he actually has something to say. I hope ESPN doesn't try to dumb him down.
