I've never heard any gals discuss guys waiting to get a refund. Heck, if they're married it get's direct deposit into the joint account...I would bet LOL

But I can unequivocally tell you that most spouses are quite aware of a potential tax refund LOL
They tend to look for it so they can spend it on the kids, house or whatever

I'll pass along to my gal pals who work NYC and tell them that $ 300 is a reasonable rate. Maybe a few of them will lower their rates? I'm sure that once some of them return from Vegas they'll get right on that.
Nope...the OP has a history based on her reviews. Perhaps she needs to explore why all she could command was $ 300 (in NYC)...and now she isn't getting that based on her OP. I suggest she try Kentucky...or Kansas.

First off you are in one of the hardest markets in this country (NYC) and you have 30 reviews-that's pretty impressive to me personally. Sometimes new photos with new wardrobe and such can spark new interest. Obviously, you're doing something right. Good luck to you.

That's what "sale" and "special" are for. Everything in this world has a price. Looking from the seller's POV, if it's priced low enough it WILL sell
will succeed. There is a market for all body types.
One improvement I would suggest would be to either improve your current website (contact me just doesn't work for rates) and add some better photos.

Thank you for being so candid. I doubt there is a lady in the business who hasn't felt the same way at one time or another.
In my experience, business fluctuates in ways that defy logic. For instance (in my case anyways) it doesn't seem to adhere to any normal financial cycles such as year-end bonuses or holiday expenses or tax returns. Nor do tried-and-true business boosters (enhanced advertising, new reviews, etc) always pay off as expected. Basically, every month is a surprise! Fortunately, over the long run, the good surprises have far outweighed the bad surprises.
You are young in the business and may not yet have found your "niche". After looking at your ad, I do agree that new pictures could be helpful. Regular board posting can draw positive attention. (As for the negative attention, just ignore Dr. Douche and his ilk - some folks just need a safe place to randomly revel in their own self-importance!) Also, reach out to other ladies to find out which photographers and advertising platforms have worked best for them. Like a gent above said, their IS a market for all body types. (I am proof!)
At the end of the day, I'm pretty sure that the single most important thing a lady can do to succeed around here is to give every client and every appointment her best effort.

1) spell check all your listings, and when you have time, update them. You are funny, but it doesn't show through as much as it could in your writing. Rather than tell them you're sweet or sexy or interesting, show them with your words. Make it clear who you are, and how you are going to come across at the office so that you can not only attract business, but business that will stick around because of YOU, not because of some trick or discount you can do. Having your rates clearly laid out helps a lot too, as most aren't going to spend more than 20seconds-1.5 minutes on your site. All they need to know or see needs to be right in front if their face.
2) get some new pictures done. Candids are great for showing exactly what you look like when someone is staring right at you, but you are in a very competitive market, and professional pictures will elevate you from "some girl" to "someone serious". You don't need to photoshop anything, just show yourself in your best light by having someone there who knows how to pose you, fix lighting, and show off your best traits in a sexy setting.
3) have you toured lately? A lot of guys will pass you over if you stay in the same place for too long, thinking you'll always be there while the touring girls will only be there for a short time. Try tossing an ad up for a city a couple hours away from you, and hop on a train or bus. Both are cheap and will get you there. Start your visiting ad about two weeks before you get there, and then post it again if it's been buried or you still have openings. Two or three days will be enough to be profitable, but not so long that you'll have to worry about getting there and blowing money.
4) your reviews. Honestly, kissing is kind of a big deal, and that issue may be scaring the guys off. If it's a YMMV thing, have some of your regulars write reviews outlining that. Getting all the "don't knows" filled in will also help you show up in more searches, and I'm pretty sure you can update that yourself by doing the "report a problem" thing that should show up when you click your profile.
5) do you have a girlfriend in the business? Sometimes, teaming up is good for not only splitting room costs, but attracting new clients that may not have looked at you before. Plus, it'll give you a chance to get more reviews to bump you to the top of the "new reviews" section.
6) in session, make sure they don't feel like you just showed up. Make a playlist for the allotted time to help you manage it, and to set the mood. Toss some rose petals on the bed, get a little oil and rub him down. A little bubbly and some candles and chocolate goes a long way too. Make yourself not only comfortable and accessible, but a better value than they were expecting for your price range. It's low, especially for your market, so it's not gonna be hard. It sucks to blow $70 on supplies, but it's an investment in your business and your future.
Unlike others, I think your rates and reviews match up perfectly for your area. If they were any better, others here would be telling you to charge more. The friends I have that toured up there at that rate, with similar reviews, did gangbusters. The only difference were the pictures, ad, and simply being in town for a limited time.
When times are slow, use the time to revamp yourself and figure out how to get yourself a raise. As long as you do that, you'll be golden. There will always be slow seasons, but if you make the time worth it they won't be so bad and the good seasons will more than make up for them
And the pickings were slim since no ones around...
Do you boys even know what the industry would be like if you ran it? Hehehe

Ladies are constantly adjusting their rates until they find their happy medium. If a lady is highly successful she will raise her rate. The rate will keep going up until the phone stops ringing. In which case, she found her happy medium, and will adjust it back down to where the phone starts ringing again. If you're not generating interest, adjust your rate until you do.
I once had a popular lady friend raise her escort rate from 240 to 300. Of course, it didn't matter to me because I always got the 240. I never asked her about it, but a couple of weeks later, her price was back down to 240. There could only have been one reason. The phone. I have another lady friend who charges 100 an hour as an escort. She's fun, tan, has good reviews, and an athletic build. I was shocked that her rate was so low, so I asked her about it. She said when she raised her rate to 120, the phone went silent.
Sometimes ladies forget that this is a business. They get it in their heads that they should be able to charge 500 an hour like lady X in the town over. There are a million other factors, some pointed out in this thread, but one bottom line is this. Sure, I might splurge when I'm traveling, but when all things are equal, who am I going to call, lady X in the town over, or my 100 to 240 an hour friends?

Lets' see...$ 100/hr x a 2,080 hour year would be $ 208,000.
But I guess few gals can work 2,080 hours. So they end up grossing about $ 30,000 and net around $ 12,000.

I don't charge for OTC...never have. In any service business it's all part and parcel of how to create the appearance of value.

Most successful businesses are built on repeat business. If you are not getting at least 75% repeat clients then you are doing something wrong. I suggest you buy a few hours of time from a provider who regularly gets 9 and 10 ratings. Have her tutor you on the essentials on what makes men happy. It may just be the best investment you could ever make.
