From what I recollect, MENSA candidates are joined into a society for chat room discussions, in person meetings, etc. Like connoisseurs of intellect and knowledge. Though I've heard they are somewhat arrogant. Not all, but some.
I've been here for an amount of time, and seemingly there are clusters of dominance - a high society, or core group, and floaters on TER.
Some get put on the bench for a time of regrouping when their IQ fails them, and they fall below the threshold of the standard hobby IQ.
Is there a test people take to get in on this society? Or is it seniority that does the trick?
To my fellow society members. I hope to be like you all one day.

I also seem to recall a number of posters claiming to be MENSA members. I don't know if they are still around...but I suspect they are.
Either that or they're busy working on their Masters and Doctorates now and can't take time to post on the boards.

but that is an image of a small bus, not an actual short bus. technically a short bus, is a full size bus with the exception that the wheel base is shorter than the wheel base of a full length bus.

I can relate with your observations, when I first join the discussions board, I've sense some of the feelings that you have interpreted here, like arrogance, intellectual superiority, lacks common sense, etc, etc of some people but reality is, I found out that TER discussion boards is really a place of entertaining, outstanding sources of informative ideas no matter how brilliant or stupid your point of views are, you will be embraced or challenge in many ways and that's the most satisfying things that you can absorb from this board, a freedom of expressions from everyone, humor is more discuss and accepted, seriousness is not ignored but questioned because of limited information related to a subject matter you want to discuss & expect a sincere and honest answers because of privacy issues. We all have this dream world, a community of great people that most of our fantasies in life is being fulfilled. So my take on this is; book more ladies taste them and use this forum, share and gives us the When Harry Meets Sally Effects, chill out man....

What one needs to do to get a TER IQ is to session with a lady. Having done so makes what you say very valuable. Sometimes you can share the experience via this board. Sometimes people like to write reviews. Many ladies enjoy sharing stories, which gives you access to even more valuable information. Success on these boards, or in the hobby in general, comes with information. The more the better. One does not need to take a test, nor pass a certain standard. All one needs to do is to start sharing. So go see a lady, and tell us about it. That's all it takes to be like us.
But only if MENSA stands for Massive Egos Need Stroking Always.
