If I have a "forgot it was a service time"  Yet I didn't engage in anal, BBBJ, or DFK, and I never asked, but somehow others have established that they are offerred, then the lady is worthy of a 9

But, if I had the EXACT same "forgot it was a service" level of experience, and didn't engage in anal, BBBJ, or DFK, and I never inquired about these services, but someone else has established that they are NOT offerred, the same experience is a 7.

If this is in fact a correct interpretation of the review guidelines, then they are completely illogical and ridiculous.

I posted this in a thread below, but since this topic keeps coming up, I am posting this here as well.

A provider does not _earn_ a certain rating just because she does certain services.  Reviewers are not required to give extra points for certain services.  The fact that a provider does those things only makes her _eligible_ for the extra points.  It does not mean a reviewer is required to add the points to his rating.  It is up to the reviewer to rate how well she performed.  He does not have to give a minimum rating of '7' just because he was happy with the session.  After all, '6' is 'Nice Time.'

Also, just because a reviewer does not take advantage of all the services a provider offers does not mean that provider is not eligible for an 8, 9, or 10.  The fact that those services are available from her is enough.  If the provider's profile indicates that she offers all the extras, but the reviewer chooses to not to engage in them, but has the most amazing time of his life, he can still give her a score higher than 7.

It is only the escorts who do not offer the extras that are detailed in the review guidelines who qualify for no higher than a '7.'  They might have very good and valid reasons for not engaging in those acts.  It's just that the ladies who go the extra mile have the opportunity to be rewarded for it with higher scores.  I don't make the rules, I'm just trying to help clarify them as I understand them.

One member described the system he has been using this way, "I've always just gone with a gut feeling- if it's great, it's a 'hot time', if it's everything you imagined and more, it's 'the extra mile', if it's better than your best experience in civilian life, it's 'I forgot it's a service', if it was just plain earth shaking it's 'one in a lifetime'," which sounds pretty good to me.  :-)

I have updated the submit review page to hopefully be easier to understand.

How about adding two more sentences saying:

"You are NOT to set the PORN ACTRESS field to YES unless you can provide proof of at least one Video/DVD or Magazine in which she has appeared in a pornographic role. Internet-only adult models do not count (it must be film, video or print only)."

Thanks in advance.

behind rejecting reviews of ladies whose pictures are placed behind password protected sections of an agency's website.

I do understand there are certain time honored rules about approving/disapproving reviews based on previous experiences in TER.  Staff has created a wonderful environment for hobbyists to exchange info about ladies they met.  Generally speaking, it works quite well.  Otherwise, I won't have 99 reviews approved so far from 101 review submissions (Out of the 2 disapproved ones is one about a lady whose photos are password protected.  The other one was a review about B&S where no money was exchanged.).

I would normally PM Staff with questions like this and wait for answer.  Since this thread is all about review guidelines, I think this is a good place to explain the rather obscure provisions of review approval so that members will keep that in mind when they submitted reviews.  Otherwise, I would post this in a new thread.

The part I don't understand is that this particular agency also has a section that is not password protected whereby ladies listed there had reviews posted about them.  In addition, I had provided the review staffs username and password of that site so that they can check for themselves photos about the lady I reviewed.  Hence there shouldn't be problem about verifying whether that lady was in fact listed in the agency's roster.

Besides, there are many reviews posted about ladies of respected and well reviewed agencies whose pictures are not shown or whose name was not listed.  In addition, many reviews had been posted about ladies listed in Craig's List whose ad only valid for a few days with no pics.

I had spent tens of thousands of dollars trying out higher end ladies of various cities and spent dozens of hours posted reviews about them.  Normally, those sort of info are hidden from other reviewers as hobbyists who visited those ladies either are too busy to write reviews or have an interest to remain quiet.  Info about ladies hidden behind password protected sites are even harder to get.  It would be too bad for some of that info not to be placed in TER's database so that other members could have access to them.

Since I am a loyal TER member, I will abide with the judgment of TER's review staffs and won't submit the other 4 reviews of ladies that fitted in that category.  (Out of the five ladies, 4 have photos behind the password protected section and 1 is not listed in the site.  The ratings would be 9/8, 10/9, 10/10, 9/8 and 8/8 with hourly donations of 500 GBP or 900 USD.  The 8/8 had yet to get back to shape due to child birth.)  (Since no name or link is mentioned here, don't think I had violated the message posting guideline.)

Note to other members: please don't PM me about those ladies as it will probably take me too much time to answer them.  That's one of the reasons why reviews are submitted in the first place.

p.s. I had seen 2 visiting Canadian ladies in the past few days and several ladies in Prague in Nov 2003.  Hence this message is not about me trying to pass the 100 review mark.  In fact, I had spent many hours trying to honestly relate my experience in my reviews so that others could benefit from them as I had benefited from reviews by others.  (It is a lot more fun to have sex with those ladies than putting the experience down to words.  That's one of the reasons why many don't submit reviews any more.  I am starting to lean towards that direction hence the much slower pace of submitting my NYC and European reviews than before.)

It is not about us verifying the pictures are there.  When a new review goes up, thousands of guys look at it.  Can you imagine even 10% calling the agency for a username and a password?

If the agency would like us to list them, then they need to make a page available to us.

ladies in password protected websites, would those reviews pass muster? or that would trigger other kinds of problem I didn't anticipate.

In any case, thanks for making TER the best review site available.

GC

p.s. The main purpose of me posting reviews is to share the info I had with fellow hobbyists.  It was never about whether a lady or agency would benefit from my reviews.  Hence I would never request an agency to change their policies to accommodate to review sites such as TER.  Many ladies and agencies, especially those resided overseas, have no idea about reviews or TER.  I personally dislike the idea of identifying myself as a TER member/active reviewer.  I think this could potentially affect how ladies behave towards me and make my review less in common with what other hobbyists would experience.

Hi,
I gave Amber Lynn ( Chicago Board) a performance of 10, yet when the review was posted, the # was knocked down to a 9. Why was that?- DJR

Well, lets look at her profile.  http://theeroticreview.com/reviews/show.asp?ID=22215

Base Maximum score   7
BBBJ                +1
Kiss w/Tounge       +1

Total Maximum Score  9

Looks like we followed the rules.

I can understand some of the frustration and comments about modifications being made to a submitted review.  Take my recently submitted review.  I submitted a review on RedHead from the Twin Cities area.  Red's profile --> http://theeroticreview.com/reviews/show.asp?id=27418

The text of the General Details and Juicy Details were not modified, but my rating for Performance was changed from a 10 - One in a lifetime to 9 - I forgot it was a service.  Additionally when I submitted the review, I had updated some of Red's Service information.  When arranging a session with her, I noticed that some of her information was incorrect and almost did not make a date due to this inaccuracy.  But when the review was posted, none of the Service Information that I entered was updated on Red's profile.  I also added Cost Of Service Information since we had spent 4 days together, but that was not entered on her profile  I wrote to TER Support yesterday about the changes that were made to the Performance rating and lack of updates to her profile.  I am still waiting to hear back.

Here's a listing of what items where changed and/or not updated:

Differences SuperBowlKen Info TER Info

Performance 10 - One In A Lifetime 9 - I forgot it was a service

General Info
Availability Daytime/Nighttime Nighttime

Services Offered

More Than One Guy Yes Don't Know
Massage Quality Awesome Don't Know

Cost Of Service

Guideline of Rule #7 for submitting reviews state - In order to keep our performance ratings consistent, we set up the following system: An escort provider may only eligible to earn up to a 7, unless she also performs the following during a session: Kisses With Tongue, Bare-Back Blow Job, Really Bi, Anal Sex, or More than One Guy. The addition of each offering will raise the score she is eligible for by one point.

This does not mean she earns extra points for performing the service; just that she is now eligible for a higher score. Her maximum eligible score is based on what is offered, not what is taken. You may or may not be interested in the “extra” services she has, but the fact she offers them makes her eligible for the higher score.

This scale does not apply to FBSM or BDSM providers. By the nature of their service they are not expected to have these extras therefore they should not loose points for it.

If your review doesn’t already accurately reflect this rating system, we will adjust it.

So, here's how I calculate her Performance score:

Base Maximum Score 7
BBBJ +1
Kiss w/Tongue +1
More Than One Guy +1
Total Score 10

Since all these service were offered, I do not see why the Performance was changed to a 9.  Therefore, I am requesting that my original Performance rating be changed back to the original score of 10.

You did the right thing by emailing [email protected]

If she earned the rating, she should get it.

I'd like to publicly thank TER Support and Staff for hearing my voice and helping to address this matter.  I'm sure your job can be thankless at times, but I do appreciate the effort and patience it takes to run this board.

My THANKS! again,

HI,
I'm sorry I misconstrued the post, my bad!!!!!

"Also, just because a reviewer does not take advantage of all the services a provider offers does not mean that provider is not eligible for an 8, 9, or 10.  The fact that those services are available from her is enough."

Who is responsible for researching the services and maintaining the profile: The reviewer, or TER?  Should I just not worry about the performance cap rule and submit a subjective performance rating, and let TER's editors worry about capping it?

If I'm not into anal, then I'm not going to inquire about it, and it's likely that I simply won't know whether she offers it or not (except by reading the TER profile, but the point of submitting reviews is that I'm supplying and INDEPENDENTLY verifying information about a provider to increase TER's accuracy and utility -- not consuming TER info in a feedback loop).

Likewise, a vast majority of TER reviews are about one-on-one encounters, so "Really Bi" and "More than one guy" are rarely verified.  Indeed, I am sure that some profiles have "Really Bi" set to Yes, where the provider does not have a single review to her name that confirms it.  (That sounds like a great potential for abuse, where a girl can easily raise her cap.)  That doesn't mean it's wrong -- just that most of the time, the reviewer doesn't really KNOW.

I think what I'm trying to say, is that if you allow the cap to be raised when the services are available but not taken advantage of, then you're creating a hole in the system.  You're putting reviewers in a situation where they have to trust OTHER REVIEWERS (particularly the first one) to set the performance maximum.  I think this compromises the integrity of reviews.

Of course, from a review READER's perspective, this is all making a mountain out of a molehill.  The integrity of performance ratings isn't very important, because I read the reviews rather than just run the numbers.  But if the numbers aren't a big deal, then why have the performance cap rule at all?

There is no "right" answer to this question.  The original problem was providers were getting tens who did not even kiss, no bj, no nothing.  Just "spreadem and go"  That is not fair to the providers who give it their all.

We came up with this system, though not perfect, to even out the scores a bit.  Could a provider lie, yes.  If the profile is inaccurate, then it is YOUR responsibility to tell us so we can adjust.
