You have been right to go with your feeling. Providers do not "earn" points

Reviewers are not required to give the extra points for certain services.  The fact that a provider does those things only makes her _eligible_ for the extra points.  It does not mean a reviewer is required to add the points to his rating.  She doesn't _earn_ a certain rating just because she does certain services.  It is up to the reviewer to rate how well she performed.  He does not have to give a minimum rating of '7' just because he was happy with the session.  '6' is 'Nice Time.'

Also, just because a reviewer does not take advantage of all those services does not mean she is not eligible for an 8, 9, or 10.  The fact that those services are available from her is enough.  If the provider's profile indicates that she offers all the extras, but the reviewer chooses to not to engage in them, but has the most amazing time of his life, he can still give her a score higher than 7.

So, it sounds as though you have been scoring properly and your system sounds fine:  "I've always just gone with a gut feeling- if it's great, it's a 'hot time', if it's everything you imagined and more, it's 'the extra mile', if it's better than your best experience in civilian life, it's 'I forgot it's a service', if it was just plain earth shaking it's 'one in a lifetime'."

A recent experience with Veronica Monroe has caused me to reconsider the reviews I've written and whether they have really accurately expressed my satisfaction with the ladies involved. I've never actually examined the guidelines posted on TER before. I noticed that if you are happy with the session and start at 7, then add points for each "extra service' you could easily arrive at a ten or more! I've always just gone with a gut feeling- if it's great, it's a "hot time", if it's everything you imagined and more, it's "the extra mile", if it's better than your best experience in civilian life, it's " I forgot it's a service", if it was just plain earth shaking it's "one in a lifetime".

With that in mind I can see where I have been a bit unfair to ladies like Veronica. I can say I've never really had a bad experience, so maybe that's part of the problem- I'm getting spoiled! In any event should you read any of my reviews, keep that in mind. Nicole of So Cal, Sasha, Wendy, Mistress Dominique, Veronica Monroe- they're all keepers!

sadly, there are many individuals who don't bother to read the guidelines

one in particular that comes to my mind (a guy who is a few cards short of a full deck of hobbying cards) regularly hands out a FIVE (ie. a literal average score) for what nearly any other TER reviewer would give a SEVEN for (per the guideline)

his typical review reads like this:  "she gave good DFK, pretty nice BBBJ, we did CG,RCG,Doggie and i finished with a nice facial ... so overall, i'd give her a FIVE!"

LOL

sad really

It was his first review.  When he was with me, he seemed to be really enjoying what I was doing, including tying him to the bed, and he never gave me so much as a hint that he wanted anything other than what I was doing.  I tend to be on the submissive side, but sometimes get into being playfully and sensually dominant when I am with someone who is rather passive, as he was.

He wrote, ". . .Basically, I got 2 BBBJ, some nice rimming, a little S & M, but no sex. Was not sure if it was me or what. Don't get me wrong, she gives a great BJ but with me - no sex. YMMV. . . ."  He gave me a '5.'  A '5' for 2 great BBBJs, some nice rimming and a little S&M?  It's not as though I declined any requests from him.  As people who have met me know, I am game for a lot more!

A friend of mine wrote on the board at the time that he suspected Anovicetoday could probably walk through a cage of lions and not get bitten, which I thought was funny.  Grrrrrowwwl!  :-D

It might have been that Anovicetoday was so new to hobbying that he was too shy to express his desires to me and that he was just disappointed afterwards.  I'm glad to see that he did find some "sex" and good times later.  :-)

It is kind of funny, but here we are in the most intimate of settings, and yet something as simple (yeah right!) as communicating gets completely missed.

Ya know - the best times are when you just go with the flow. Sometimes I've driven home, and thought, oh, darn, we didn't do X, or we didn't do that, or I forget to mention this, and you're thinking well, I know I enjoyed it all, hope he did as much. I mean it's not like it's a recipe and you make it the same every time.
We've all had dates that never even went near FS. I think just cuddling naked on the couch drinking wine was all he wanted to do and that's what we did. It truly is about the experience about a higher level of companionship, and relating. So, going with whatever happens is going to be the most enjoyable - you're paying attention to the here and now and not focusing or looking for that certain goaline ahead.

When I started out, I was a tougher grader than I am today.  Only recently do I feel I'm even qualified to compare and contrast accurately, and think anyone should listen.

I actually gave Ali a 9/9!!!!  So, in keeping with the theme of your admirable post, allow me to set the record straight as well.  Ali is a 10/10.
