wearing a wedding ring is a matter of personal preference.

now, I see that you have gone the 'woe is me' diatribe in your other posts in this thread.

I really don't give a shit.

I myself never wore a ring when married except to family functions, etc., exactly for this reason as my line of work does occasionally cause me to put my hands in harm's way.  This is common for many in the mechanical trades.

Another reason to hobby and not get married, I suppose.

AND still not have to sneak or lie to the spouse?
APPARENTLY NO ONE THINKS ITS POSSIBLE TO DO BELOW IN THAT THREAD. ASK MR FISHER IT IS POSSIBLE. yOU HAVE TO COMMUNICATE AND FIND THE RIGHT ONE THAT SHARES your view AND LIFESTYLE.
guys marrying galls that dont get them. How is that cool? wow. maybe you can tell them it is possible mr fiher you can be in a long term ralationship with a person you love AND hobby, There are women LIKE ME.
that wouldnt put unrealistic demands on a man. ..................it all deoends on how you wanna go through life, stressed and not living how you want or with some one that gets it,

...how not to jump to judgment on circumstances you have little to no understanding of. Sure, there are some cads here who should never have made a monogamous commitment in the first place, but there are plenty of sad stories from fellas who don't want to blow up everything they've built over years and years of marriage and simply long for some intimacy and human touch that's been missing for any number of reasons.

A little sexytime here and there is not such a big deal if that's all it takes to save an otherwise happy/contented relationship. LTR's get complicated, and each in their own special way (especially so once the kids arrive - and in ways one could *never* have foreseen). Try to have a little empathy

After she caught me twice she threw in the towel and gave me permission for a few years until she decided to cash in her chips with me and sue for divorce.  That was a pretty good time to be I*.  I even had money.  She even went around screwing married men for free and seemed to be having a ball.  We even did some three-somes with a few of the gals I saw.

Then the divorce came and everything seemed to go to hell.  The money dried up under the perfect storm of the stock market crash, kids' college tuitions, and the divorce settlement.  I had to hobby on the sly for the 2 years that the divorce dragged on pursuant to the rules of the court.

Now I am married again but to a former provider whom I met through the hobby, and she is happy that I find happiness with the gals I see, so life is good again.  If only it would rain money for a few days, I'd be in clover.

I apologize for seeming to be a know-it-all sometimes, and appreciate efforts to bring me back to earth when indicated.

*Yes, it sounds awful, but it is grammatically correct.

You just seem like a smart and seasoned guy whose opinions are almost always the way to go

I had been married about 10 months and I wore my wedding ring until I almost got my finger torn off. I was in grad school and was capturing deer when the ring got snagged by some equipment. My wife bought me another one. It was a little too big and when I washed my hands in the men's room it came off when I dried my hands with the paper towel. I didn't notice it was gone. When I looked for it later The janitor had cleaned the room and threw out the waist paper basket. My wife relented and I have never worn any ring since. I was married to the same lady for 52 years. I never strayed. She was a great wife, mother, lover, partner. I started the hobby about 4 years after she died. Moral of the story, a ring isn't necessary for a marriage to work.
