To the guys... Really, beauty is subjective, so 10 ladies with 10 body types and 10 faces will be a 10 to someone, making the grading scale basically useless until you find another guy with the same tastes as you. There's nothing wrong with people having their own preferences, just don't take their word for it when it comes to yours. Either see a girl who shows her face or one that is billed repeatedly as a REAL 10 if it's that important to you. They are out there.

What is the point? Here is my opinion... not that it matters much... or will change anything.
The point of the reviews IMHO is to tell us...
a) are the pictures accurate?
b) are they old?
This is what matters... not the number... we all know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder... My 8 may be your 10... or your 6...
Same is true for the performance score... we are all looking for different things and what is important to me may not be important to you. The important thing is the narrative of what happened and then getting a perspective on other reviewers who share your tastes that you can BC with.

If you search reviews, you'll find that more reviews are posted with numbers 8 and under, than 9 or above, by a factor of about 10:1.
Performance ratings? Roughly the same.

I was really, really bored this evening, so I pulled all the ratings for a few providers at random and actually looked at the distribution of the ratings. Pretty normal, easy to identify outliers and "special cases".
Review manipulation and backlash among providers? Sure, it happens. It's reflected in the data, and it stands out if you look.
Review bribery and vengeance among the clients? Sure, it happens. It's reflected in the data, and it stands out if you look.
Reality check... the ratings system seems to work just fine. It even exposes the review manipulation that is done by BOTH PROVIDER AND CLIENT.
My own theory is that the men bitch at other men about the numbers more than the women bitch at men about them. According to the data I looked at, BOTH are wrong. Time to stop bitching about them.
Wouldn't be insulted in real life, and am never insulted here. I can't earn over an 8 for performance, so 7 & 8's are normal for myself...and in appearance, 7 & 8's are also just fine with me. Hey...if I was a super model (9 or 10), I would be in a magazine or on the runway...so I am just fine with the 7's & 8's, lol.

FWIW I not only get it, but agree with you completely. The inmates are plainly running the asylum, much to the detriment of all of us paying members.
I think one of the best moves that TER has made in the last couple of years was to allow alias reviews to protect guys like you who apparently "tell it like it is" Of course they only did this to counter one of their stupidest moves which was to start all of these "top" lists in the first place which has created a huge increase in review fraud and manipulation.
