... and if you do get ebola, you need to stay out of the hobby for 2 months after you recover. I guess you're gonna have to get used to righty (or lefty)....

You'll find that anyone who is not symptomatic cannot spread the virus.
You have to have direct contact with body fluids, via a break in the skin (I've heard it can absorb in the skin, but I've also heard it needs an entry point which makes MUCH more sense if you think about it)
Men can spread ebola via semen (which likely includes precum) for 7 weeks after recovering (so really, we should be the ones who should be more worried).
Ebola is awful. Ebola is deadly. Ebola is not that easy to catch.
The reason it spread like wildfire over in Africa is because they lack the simplest of preventative measures. Gloves, soap, even water. Care of the deceased requires extra diligence as they continue to be infectious. Lack of hospitals/clinics means more family members caring for the ill. More family members under onen roof...it goes on and on. Their living situation over there is like the perfect grounds for this to take root. Not so much here in the USA, especially since we have a heads up.
Incubation is 7 to 21 days, and remember you can't pass it on if you're not sick. It's not like some other viruses that you can pass on before you know you have been infected. With Ebola, they know they're sick by the time they're passing it on to others.
Now, the guy in texas, he did what he was supposed to do. He went to the hospital when he started feeling sick, knowing he was just in Africa...but they sent him home!! There was a breakdown in their sharing of information and ALL hospitals in the nation have learned from that lesson and it is unlikely to happen again.
Also, the test for ebola is an easy one and is almost never wrong.
So relax. Breathe. And just make sure you wash your hands and stay away from people with a fever.
