TER General Board

Of course in your case, sometimes I would simply let your posts stay "in queue" for weeks

and just who is missing of late that was around back in the stone ages when I was a mod?

BTW not wanting to read every one of your insipid posts does not make one "lazy" it makes one "smart" lol

I've wondered the following,

Do they get paid?
What are their hours? (When I, along with many more posters, were being moderated I noticed after 10pm central time, things slowed down and posts took forever to post.)
Do they do lunch together?
If they socialize together, do they gossip about / make fun of all the posters?
Do they volunteer, or is it some kind of lottery they get picked in?
Is there one big moderator? Do they call him / her 'the big "M"'?
Do they do it because they want to or because they have to?

Some other questions...
Do they get jaded?
Are they human?
Do they take showers between shifts?
Do they lie about their age?

but obviously someone is monitoring these boards and does things like closing down threads when things go too far, or sometimes when a person has a query some named "TER Administrator" steps in and answers the person or asks them to write to them.

It sort of reminds me of that old but very treasured TV show called The Prisoner that aired in the 1960s with Patrick McGoohan.

A bit creepy, but effective nonetheless.

Don't hold your breath expecting answers to those questions, by the way.

Your admirer not bothering you over the emails...LOL

How the hell we are supposed to know answers to this? TER is going to tell us? Yeah Right

P.S. Please don't cry...I have such effect on people.. Or they say I do.

Yes.
6am to midnight Amsterdam time.
Yes.
Yes.
It's their job.
Yes and Yes.
They have to.

Yes.
Most of them.
No.
No

Or at least they are to the best of my knowledge.

No, mods did not get paid, unless you want to count free VIP as pay, we were supposed to have access to the TER jet, but for some reason I always encountered "black out" days every time I put in for a reservation.

We didn't have set hours, but as people with supposed lives outside of TER, there were times when we might not check the boards for several hours, which is why most of the active boards had co mods.

Only gay people "do lunch" and although I am a lesbian (trapped in a man's body) I don't "do lunch"

Yes, we made fun of all the posters, some more than others.

In my case, I was drafted. Most moderators however applied for consideration and admin picked them according to their own criteria, partly based on recs from existing mods. In my case, I refused to become a mod until it was pointed out to me just how mad a certain segment of the community would get at the news. For some reason certain members here were dead set against me becoming a mod. If it weren't for them, I never would have done it, but the response was priceless. I am sure there are still some archived posts on the PO board about it. lol

Back in the day Xx was the "have all, end all" after him is was Xxx and now I guess it's just Admin. who is in charge.

I did it because I was on the board all hours of the day and night anyhow, a very good friend asked me to do it, and as I said above, it really pissed off the OTHFBC, the manginas, and the BSU candidates to have an admitted asshole like me as a mod.

In your subject line you say, "but when they weren't" but in your text all your questions ask "do they?"

So is your real question about the former volunteer mods, as your subject line indicates, or is it about the current admin moderators as your present tense line of questioning indicates?

My answers above are for the current mods. (and even though I made up all the answers, I would bet a lot of them are true.)
I was about to write another set for the former volunteer mods, but GaG just did a much better job of that than me.
:

or they would not know our Sports so intimately.

Just sayin':D

In the morning until about 10 they can go up so fast it's as if I'm not moderated, but by mid afternoon it can take several hours.
Oh, and speaking of those who "had a cow" when GaG was made a mod, one prominent one sees to have disappeared of late.
The other thing about GaG as a mod was, he was unbelievably lazy.  He admitted to me that he was basically never going to moderate me again because I had keyboard diarrhea to the point where he didn't want to have to read all my posts.
Naturally, I went nuts after that. :)

You never put any of my posts in queue for weeks.  Ever.  And we both know you find my posts trenchant and amusing.
As for your missing pal, it's BPS. Feel free to PM me for details.

Are you sure we're out of the country? One of those TER Myths that that keeps you wondering.

1) Yes and use of the private jet (didn't think we had one?)
2) 24/7/365 - various reasons why sometimes posts are slower going up - see # 9 - it is nice to breakfast/lunch/dinner as well as a good time to socialize and gossip (see # 4)
3) Yes
4) What do you think?
5) Not really
6) Ummm, Your Majesty is sufficient
7) Both

8) A better question is: Do we believe everything we read?
9) We think so
10) Why do you want to know?
11) Not as much as some folks we encounter

Apparently TER Admin had way too much fun with this post - (as we do some post cleaning on other boards
