Agree with Ossieboy on this post - I live 2,000 miles away, but my heart is on the west coast where i grew up and vacation every year.  The SD board has more interesting content in one week than that of my home town has in any six month period.  The differant opinions, exchanges, and well spoken differances are what makes this board so special to me.
Check out other boards and I think we will all appreciate what the San Diego board has to offer.  Great and opioniated people, balance of opinions of special ladies and of men who know what they want and/or appreciated,provide a special balance that maybe we underestimate  - just my thought

+1. This section is not too bad but it's pretty much anything goes in the GD section. I've reported some out right racist posts in GD only to be told by TER staff the post is fine as is. I spend spend much more time in a smaller local board which is moderated. I like how moderation makes sure everyone plays nice.

are critical. Without them the boards will never be what they were in their heyday. It only takes one black sheep to ruin a thread and then the rest is history. See the decline of civilization....  
   
 I wish TER would re-implement at least one local provider and one local hobbyist who together would moderate each board would be ideal. And if things got really too stressful the two of them could bang it out and then post the thread about it  
   
 No amount of anal ring toss threads will bring the boards back without moderators.

Nailed it. Unfortuntely, it's about seven years too late to make a difference.

Current management likes the boards the way they are. It's an outlet for people who want something more than ads, but they don't have to sink any labor or payroll into it.

And in the heyday, the moderators that there were had a lot on their plate for little in return...but it DEFINITELY made the boards more active and kept them civilized.

Unfortunately, it isn't going to change back.

Titillating

Two Irishmen were walking down the street and spotted a notice in the shop window  
saying '2 pairs of trousers only $6 and 3 shirts only $8.  
 
"Feck me" says Jack, "do you see that Paddy, we could make a fortune".  
 
Paddy replies "hell yeah, we could buy up the whole stock and make a fortune".  
 
"Ok" says Jack, "you go in and in your best English accent ask how much to buy the whole stock, because if he catches on you're Irish he'll try and bump up the price".  
 
"Ok" says Paddy.  
 
Off he trots and approaches the man behind the counter and in his best English accent says,  
 
"Excuse me kind sir, may i speak to the proprietor, "that would be me" says the man behind the counter.  
 
"Ah that's perfect" says Paddy, "may i ask you how much it would be buy your entire stock".  
 
Proprietor shakes his head and asks in a low tone "you're Irish aren't you"  
 
"Well how the feck would you know that" says Paddy.  
 
Proprietor replys "because we're a dry cleaners"
