If your there for the Sex the hotel is just fine.
But if you like a little more intimate setting and want to get to know a lady a little bit more a residence is better. PROVIDED it can easily be found with simple directions.
Does a provider who entertains out of hotel rooms detour you from seeing her?
I have had several incalls, or private residences that I work & play from, but in this day, and age I am more, likely to get a hotel room to accommodate the clients needs.
Just curious what the fellas have to say…
How many will only visit a studio, apartment, condo, or home?

In terms of my priorities, looks, reviews, and price account for nearly the full decision for me. Location can be important (ex: I won't drive up to Oceanside), but I don't think I have ever made a decision based on whether incall was a hotel or her own place. I do think it is important though to have a hotel that matches your price point.
I usually only hobby when on vacation out of town (due to agressive le where I live). I usually prefer incall, but a classy hotel is also fine with me, it's all about the woman and the experience.
Heck I have my one favorite girl who I see annually when on vacation in SD, and if she wanted to see me in a phone booth - I'd be there. Oh wait - there aren't any phone booths any more - and she wouldn't do that - but you get the idea.
No difference and in fact sometimes a hotel is easier arking not to mention more discrete. I have been a little nerveous at times going to a incall apartment that was in full view of neighbors. At least at a hotel I look like every other guest.

To the OP:
Hotels are fine as long as you are getting a nice one unless discussed prior. I had a friend who wanted a "dirty" experience so we booked a very low end hotel to satisfy the "nasty naughty" factor. I sense that it matters where little as long as everyone is on the same page (as in don't promote an upscale incall, be it hotel/home/condo/etc if you aren't offering one).
WOW - It's about 30 degrees or so here today, and now I am all heated up. So keep an eye out for a possible remaining phone booth until I get out there, and if none I may come out a day ahead to build one - lol - Could maybe build one by the shuttle stop
Well maybe not downtown Damascus or south central. Sometimes I'll get my own room/suite if it suits my needs.

As long as she varies which hotel it's fine with me. I like apartments a little better though and it's my preference.
No problem with upscale hotels. Not cheaper ones though in general, although I've seen a girl I really trust at a moderate priced one a couple times.
I feel much more comfortable at an upscale hotel. It is important to my privacy, and it feels safer.
For some reason, I always feel uncomfortable at an incall at a private residence, studio, apartment, condo or home. I always feel that the neighbors are watching or LE. At a hotel, you can be more anonymous. Plus for a businessman, if something goes wrong, you have a reason to be at a hotel. You have no reason to be in some residential area. That is just my opinion. As always YMMV.

Though i do like it when i can visit a girl in her own home as it it always more warm and inviting I have no problem seeing a girl in a decent,discreet hotel.
I think there is something to be said about a girl feeling more comfortable in her own bed though lol.
there's something to be said for a girl inviting me to her home.
as for a hotel: upscale, discrete entrance, discrete parking (I once went into a pay lot and had to use a cc to get out. Don't like leaving a trail of any kind).
Hotels are good for evening dates if you don't know the area. No hunting for an address in the dark.

If the provider has good standing in this community, I don't have a problem with either a hotel room or a private residence. By good standing, I mean high averages in terms of service, and board comments that suggest she has things together and is professional, discreet, and likable. That sort of provider would never compromise safety by working out of a low-class hotel where our safety might be put at risk. In short I would never let this be a big factor in seeing or not seeing a provider.
I respect your candor & appreciate your honest replies. I think I will invest in a private office apartment & still get a nice room to accommodate those with special needs. For example: If my office is to far drive.

A nice hotel is OK, but I rate it number 3 or 4.

Unless I know the lady, hotels are a little uneasy for me. Just paranoid about LE
I go to either. Unfortunately the provider will not be staying at the room and quite often arrives late. I find this to be very irritating and unprofessional. Understand provider get stood up quite often but I like punctuality. I won't go to certain neighborhoods if it's sketchy whether it be a hotel, motel, or private residence.

do not specifically turn me away from a lady, but if I had my druthers, all of my dates would be outcalls.
The few time I've seen providers in Hotel rooms was negative for me. One provider kept me waiting a little past
the start time and I started to get followed by security. I must have looked nervous and suspicious. The other time
I saw a popular provider on this board and there was a guy hovering around outside and the walls were thin. Just wasn't fun.
