I was looking through my former stepping grounds of Dallas today, and although I've been well aware that Dallas has had a surge (Like a 110% increase) in WG's since late 2008, I just can't help but wonder how many of these ads are real, or they like cam models, scams, etc.

The BP site is another one. I used to market myself in smaller, under-served cities and towns, but it never fails nowadays. I always see another ethnic (usually Black) provider advertising with some out of state number. I read an article in North Dakota, that suggested many of the ads are fake, or WG's from out of town.

I haven't taken the chance to contact any of the providers advertising. However, it seems no matter what, every time I plan to go someplace ethnically under-served, I see someone similar to me (seemingly) offering the same thing that I do. It's like REALLY? How is that possible? I feel there's no way the providers are actually there. One provider I noticed on BP, went from being 23 to 26 years old, over the course of 3-4 ad postings.

It makes me feel like some of these smaller (and larger) markets are being driven off by these ads. Reviews help, but when guys get duped, they stop looking. Can anyone enlighten?

OK, change the L to a B...they stop BOOKING as much.

I know because the phone in many of these smaller markets are incessantly dead, and for what reason? They weren't like that before. Why is it like that now?

I know that you've heard the "times are tough" line before, but along with recession and low wages pitting less money in men's pocket, more women are going to cross over to earn a living. As well, if there's money to be made in fake ads, somebody'll pick that up.

IMO, what's happening is that ladies are expanding their touring routes or areas they're willing to travel to. They won't be there all the time, but they'll put a line in the water. I booked a woman who toured into town a week or so in advance and that night saw her ad on a local mall board. She wouldn't be in town for a week, but the ad implied available now. There's not much you can do about that kind of competition.

I think wherever the demographics are real homogeneous the exotic has draw, so Colorado and the Dakotas will attract women of African heritage wanting to cash in. But you cheat yourself if you sell services in competition with other Black women. If you make sure you're selling not only to the Moses slant, but to white men who make their decision based on other preferences, you're automatically expanding your market.

In a previous OP you talked about low-balling, and P4P seems like the wrong market, IMO, for that strategy to work. If you market to guys looking for a cheap deal, you're going to attract guys who'll want to haggle the price down. I still think you'd do better if you charged more and sold as an elite companion or a truly sensual masseuse. Just another 2 cents.

Thanks for your insight. I'm getting a better understand, but don't think I'm trying to 'argue'.

I understand the "times are tough", but it seems hard to believe that it's true. Not that what YOU'RE saying isn't true, but it seems like the tough times were just a temporary thing between 2009-2012. Looking back, things are worse now for me, than even in the 'official' recession. In my local area, they talk about how things are booming, jobs are being added, and people are flocking to move here, and rents are soaring. But I haven't seen a single iota of increase in business. If anything, it's just gotten worse over the last 2-3 years, and especially the last 6-8 months. I don't understand how that's possible, unless it's the wrong jobs being added and wrong people moving in.

As for being haggled, I say it because I've experienced that when I was first going to new, underserved cities, I could charge whatever I want, and get it. But I noticed when Denver started getting the increase in certain 'types' of escorts, the rates started being haggled down. Just last night, I had to regulate on a client for the last time. He's seen me 3 times, but yet for the past several months, he hits me up only to complain about my rate or cancel out on me. When I showed him a link to my ad, and he says, "I've seen you for less, so I need to think about it." I had to tell him straight up, you complain about $50 extra, when I already told you from the start, that it would be discounted every OTHER session."

It just gets on my tits when these guys know I'm  good, but they say things to make me feel like I'm not worth what I ask for. And it's not like I'm even asking that much to begin with. I could charge $300/hr, but I know that won't get me any business locally. But I know I can get it, because I've gotten it in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and DC, and even in Denver it's not out of the normal. Thing is, I just can't save up any money to move to those places, and I need more than 1 or 2 $300/hr bookings per month.
