I was watching LA Confidential the other night. In one scene Lynn Bracken, the Veronica Lake lookalike, tells one of her customers who has to be rescheduled that she would make it up to him.

It struck me that, if prostitution is indeed the world's oldest profession, then "I'll make it up to you" may be the world's oldest cliche.

Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to crawl into my foxhole and wait for the incoming. ;)

There have been very, very few times when I've heard that phrase.  And when I did, she did make it up to me.

...either, "I'll make it up to you," or, "I'll take care of you tonight." These interactions are infrequent and only with women who I've come to associate with in a ways other than the appointments.

Which brings up a question. Aside from all the romantic heartbreak scenarios on this board, do people notice that non-P4P transactions or interactions take on a different tone (or different dimension) when dealing with someone with whom you've done sessions?

I find there's a wariness initially, but that if and when that is overcome, there is a deeper degree of trust.

The Lumber Yard Waits

After spending my life in two families of selfish users, I do not expect it to have "it" made up to me. So when it does happen it is great, really great. If not, oh well.

Keep on smiling!

for a hooker to "make it up to me"  I'd be a rich fucker....

but honestly the same is true of women *in general* - once they've gotten what they wanted...

Well, let's do some math. If you saw one provider every day for a year, and each said she'd make it up to you, that would be $3.65 per year. Assuming you're sixty years old and you started at age 10, that's $182.50.

Either you're one of the undead, or "rich" means something different to you than to me. ;)

You're fired!

a use of hyperbole designed to communicate a feeling.....

I have not put myself in the position of having a provider "make it up to me" very many times - but every time I honestly fooled myself into believing that it would happen  and the resultant wait seemed interminable :p

it's been worse in my personal life - at least earlier on -   but I've arrived at the conclusion that it is best to avoid this situation in the first instance.....

Then that's MY department.

You might have said:

Waitin' to get laid
And not gettin' paid
Can be anxiety sublime
Or just a waste of time...

Something like that.

The only way to have a provider never be late or never reschedule you is to never book with one at all.

I admire and respect you, MarkusKetteman. You're just off your game the last 12 hours or so. :D

I don't see the poetry in your last post, though. Let's try again.

If I had a penny for every day that I waited,
Sitting alone, libido fully baited,
Waiting for Sherry or Carla or Bobbi or Lee
To follow through on her promise to "make it up to me",
Why, I'd be a rich man
A wealthy motherfucker
I'd have 18,250 pennies
Instead of the moniker "sucker"

The cynic says one thing while meaning another, but the cynic is the offspring of the hypocrite who says one thing while DOING another.

I'll take the former over the latter any day.

And for the record, the world's oldest cliché is:

"no problem"*

*We'll have a deal just as soon as I figure out how to screw you."

because I have learned from experience, and do not expect future results to vary...   realism is liberating...

And you certainly know yourself better than I do. But your comment certainly is cynical; hence my response.

How or why you developed this perspective that women *in general* have no interest in 'making anything up to you after they have gotten what they want', does not make your comment any less cynical

"It's the thought that counts."
