Pretend for a horrible second you get busted by LE for engaging in the hobby.  You have to appear before a judge.  Do you 1) deny deny deny, 2) admit guilt and ask/cry/beg for leniency or do you 3) say "Damn right I did and there ain't nothing wrong with it!  Get your laws off my body!" or something like that?

What if you were someone 'important' like Elliot Spitzer, and had to appear before the cameras.  Do you 1) blubber about your problems and ask for the public's forgiveness, 2) pull a Bill Clinton "I did not have sexual relations with that woman..." or do you 3) say unequivocally "Yes I did.  This whole dark ages thing is stupid, and it's about time we embrace freedom of personal action without bible thumpers and old school feminists turning this into a crime?"

He or she hires a lawyer to speak for them and they STFU is say nothing unless their lawyer tells them to.

In theory I agree but I don't see it happening in the US anytime soon.

Dear Steph:
That is why I like you. You always consider the consequences and ramifications of your actions in legally tenuous times.

Why wait to get busted? Make a public announcement yourself, stating you are a whoremonger and proud of it.  Tell your local media you're holding a press conference on the steps of the courthouse. Tell them you are part of a wonderful community and list all the good things you've experienced while wallowing in lust.
Demand the authorities legalize your favorite "hobby."
I'll be glad to hold your coat.
Until then, don't ask silly questions.

There is a fourth choice which is to STFU.

There is a Fifth Amendment right to remain silent, and this is when you use it.

If your lawyer can make a  case that there is insufficient evidence to convict, you might walk. (Owing $5K to the lawyer, but what the hell.)

More than likely you'll plead nolo, pay a $500 fine plus court costs, and maybe have to attend john school, plus the $5k to the lawyer.

Best advice:  Play safe and don't get caught.

Celebs have a tough life, but they knew the job was dangerous when they took it.

FWIW:  The battle to overcome the laws against P4P might play out in the Supreme Court some day, but won't be happening in your local district courthouse.

(still not a lawyer)

I would follow the suggestions of my Attorney. After all he/she is much more qualified in dealing with legal matters than I'll ever be and that is after all what I'd be paying him/her for.

Admitting guilt is stupid unless it is part of a plea bargain. If busted talking will not get you off but screw you over. We have the right to a lawyer and the right to remain silent for a reason and only a fool waves his rights. Even if you plan on raising a constitutional challenge to the prostitution laws best to shut up and let your lawyer do the talking. You will not win support for any cause being stupid. There is a time to protest and speak out, in a trail is not that time. You have a freedom of speech and a right to be stupid, use them with LE and the courts at your own peril.

but I am not a fucking moron. In a court of law, or anytime when dealing with LE, I keep my fucking mouth shut and trust my lawyer to talk for me.

There is a time and place to stand up for your right to fuck hookers, neither the courtroom nor the police station is the that place.

Get a life. You sound like lonely man staring at the walls, imagining hopeless crap,

You truly are a King_of_Lonlies

Hence the "no alcohal" rule i wrote on EVERY page my site, Me and alcohol DONT mix very well.
As for me when i got popped for being a hot mess and then sorta struggled got combative as dumb drunken idiots do... More often than not which is why i dont want to be around drunks or have alcohol in my home or even be tempted. I am no angel i get tempted. Thats why its called alcoholism its an addiction, Any how.
I never tryed to use any excuses i just didnt have any it was fcuked up i knew i messed up , There wasnt anything i COULD say to defend my behavior.
Same goes for my drunk driving charge also in twenties,. At the court hearing i didnt get a good lawyer i didnt care, I couldve got lesser punushments both times but I didnt attempt to even try to get good lawyers and didnt care too, That was just me,
As for a guy getting caught doing this I d say the answers will be they try and get out of it and get a good lawyer, A few drunken incidences in your twenties is the norm these days, If not even less terrible than the norm these days as heroine is more the norm with the youth these days not drinking arrests its now they are all on dope and robbin places for money to get it or whatever, Any ways, Guys gettin caught doin this they get listed as asex offender which could be confused as a molester so they better be trying to not get in trouble for it,
As for me when i break the law and fuck up i own it, I dont give a fuck, I dont mind doin time i did a skid bid and it actually saved me from myself and i am better wiser stronger cu of it, I wouldnt change a thing about my past if given the chance and have zero regrets,.

when what it needs are advocates. It is doubly foolish to confuse defending yourself with defending the hobby. I would prefer to be alive and free when the laws change... martyrs just don't seem to ever enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Advocate... do not defend what does not need defending.

I tried to find the video about this phrase, and instead I was led to thiis.
