A few years ago I had prostate cancer and got it removed.
Now my dick is shorter than before and doesn't get very hard.

My urologist recommends it -- but I am uncertain.

They definetly stay rigid. Form my personal experience It does feel uncomfortable in many angles....but some ladies may say otherwise.

A guy with an IPP (inflatable penile prosthesis), which is what 98% of guys get and which is capable of getting the most rigid, can totally control the rigidity anywhere from totally limp to railroad spike hard.  If the guy is at all considerate he can ask you exactly how hard and rigid you want it, and can change it if you change your mind.  You should NEVER have this negative experience.

Maybe we should get together and I can show you how it should operate. ;-)

This is a good forum, but there's better ones for discussing ED issues. Check out franktalk.org.  It's all about ED, and different medications, operations, implants, etc

That had it done a few months ago and has had nothing but problems.  Here is the key issue. If you still have feeling, do not do it. If you do not have feeling,  go for it. My friend still had feeling and when it's pumped up, he has major pain.  He's thinking about getting it removed.
