It's a bit far for Philly and SNJ people

What Beaches are you enjoying this year?

Asbury has really come a long way...IMPRESSED
Still love Point Pleasant....what about you??

I do like a beach with a bit of action, say restaurants, bars, shops.... As much as I enjoy the sea it needs to have a little something.
Does some Harbor have that?
Belmar and Bradley beach, not so much

It's close enough to where I live in Northern Va and I know the good places to eat. I stay in the higher numbers away from the boardwalk and I just love it. I will stay out on the beach until 6PM. Swimming, body surfing, eating fruit out in the sun, reading... love it!!

You know, I live just outside of Philly Pa for 2 years and I never once made it to the beaches at the jersey shore.

I am a huge beach lover and will go back to the beach a few more times before it starts to get too cold. At least too cold for swimming. Then in the winter I plan on going to Florida.

Expensive, yes. But where else can you get 5 hours of pleasure and stunning beauty for $495?

My favorite- love the quiet and lack of commercializations - used to great fishing too, not sure now after Sandy
Spent years as a kid at PP- remember the original Jenkins (jenkinsons? Something like that) before it burned, long before Sandy- ahh, childhood memories!

Many Philadelphians and SNJ people have no clue what IBSP means. It's a state park south of Seaside Park that is kept in its natural barrier island condition. There are two large parking areas with a bathrooms, showers and snack bars and many smaller parking areas where you walk to largely unsupervised beaches, where you can fish, picnic and generally live the beachcomber existent.  Small entrance fee per car. It is wonderful change of pace from most commercialized shore communities, and no beach tags.

I just recommended it to my latest provider friend.
