A needle?? Yikes!!!!

LG: After about 50 sessions in my time indulging in this business, the last two sessions, I lost my erection. I had taken viagra (I actually don't need it, I'm 40 and in fine health) so I know it's in my mind. Is this normal? Is there something wrong with me? The girls did nothing wrong. The first couple times I saw an escort the same thing happened because of nerves, but it's become a mental issue (once you think "What's wrong?", it's all over). I have an erection all day, then the girl is there and Boom! away it goes.

This is really something of a crisis for me. What can I do? Is it possible to be bored?

Oh you Headscratcher and the rest of the gang,

the minute someone down in the front office doesn't cooperate, you all hit the panic button, LOL.

DO NOT WORRY. You are as normal as normal gets. I don't know one single guy who's hit 40 and who ALWAYS gets erections. Yup, sometimes the old boner doesn't cooperate. It could be various reasons: tired from work, stressed out, something on your mind (usually work or interpersonal relationships of various kinds,) and just good ole performance anxiety.

The thing to do is to stop worrying and start relaxing. Do some paradoxical interventions: tell yourself that you absolutely do not care if you get erect or not, or if you lose it (which is very common unless you're receiving stimulation 100% of the time while in bed). The more you obsess about it, the more frequent will be the potential for disappointment. So just relaaaaaax and stop pushing yourself. Set out with the thought that you could care less if it's going to happen, and watch it rise. And, if you don't really need Viagra, why take it? As you see, your own brain outwitted the drug.

Finally, yes, it's possible to be bored. Why that should be a crisis, I don't know. It's NORMAL to be bored, if that's what it is. Please do not have expectations of yourself as the eternal Casanova. Remember what happened to him? He was completely miserable in the end, like a testosterone ridden old, mangy dog (I love Donald Sutherland's portrayal in Fellini's Casanova) and he became a wretch. Instead, give yourself many breaks, both in and out of bed.

Enjoy your erections, but don't demand them of yourself,
the Love Goddess

Thank you, LG. Is there a way to keep myself from thinking, "Wait, am I losing my hardness?" because that's the kiss of death. Being flaccid in that situation is absolutely humiliating. A man without an erection is not a man. (Women don't relate to that, but that's just how we feel.)
I remember reading last year about a spray that was in development that would actually increase sex drive, not simply ED symptoms, is there such a thing? Thanks again for your support.
(I'm still obsessing!)

is what you can get at Boston Medical Group.  You've probably heard their commercials.  They have a "shot"....I know, I know...SHOT!!!...that you inject into your dick and you're hard for almost as long as you want.

I've not done it but I know one gent who was totally incapable of staying hard.  This treatment worked big time.

I think this should be a last resort, don't you?

These drugs really do work.   But they give an "unnatural" erection in the sense that it is totally mechanical.  I found that I could overcome the aversion to needles in the penis, but that my feeling was definitely reduced.  I suspect that at least some of that effect has been permanent.   Therefore, I have reverted to the Viagra even though it is not as efficient in giving and holding an erection.

in 2005 (see Related Link).

Here is what it says on the Palatin Technologies website: http://www.palatin.com/investorcenter/faq.asp .

I did a Google search but I can't find anything current. I don't know if the Phase 3 study ever got started or not.

The drug is for sale on the Internet, but I wouldn't take an illegal experimental drug not approved for human usage. I suspect that either the Phase 2 study uncovered some severe side effects or the drug didn't work as advertised. However, it is frustrating not to be able to find out for sure.

Does anyone know anything more?

Dear Love Goddess:
I was wondering if you knew of any reason why blood would flow through to the corpus casernova.  Also I was wondering if you ask your clients if they would use NO2 on a regular basis.  Although prescription drugs are extremely effective, I am also wondering if your clients benefit from the wonders of l-argenine or Stamina RX? These are very effective products considering that you wouldn't deal with adult entertainment stars.

Dear Neurosexy4,
I am a psychotherapist and not authorized to prescribe or otherwise recommend substances, either OTC or by prescription, to individuals in my practice. I refer them to a urologist, nutritionist or internal medicine specialist once it's about ingesting things.

As to what my therapy clients tell me - their issues are more psychological than strictly physiological, so that's the area that we discuss.

The penis question: during the normal male erection process blood flow is directed into the corpus cavernosum. It's normal. Otherwise the penis wouldn't get erect.

Perhaps you should check out the General Discussion board, there's a recent thread on L-Arginine.

Happy swelling,
the Love Goddess

Yes, That is in your head, if Viagra and intact blood flow are present.

Work it out or see a shrink!

It never fails to perk me up and if Peter doesn't cooperate, at least you've gotten a nice massage.

Also, try giving her one too.  Tactile sensations have a way of realigning things for the better.
