I know several people asexual like this, both male and female.

What does "natural for an individual of the human race" mean ?  Who's to say what's natural and what's not ?

In your friend's case, it could be choice, lack of sexual urge, or just pulling your leg.  Who knows.

I have a friend who has not been with a woman in a vast number of years. He says he is an A sexual,
and is not really interested in sex?
He does have female friends, but they are not sexual in any manner.

So I guess my question is, is this a natural for
an indiviual of the human race? or is it something of choice, as in no real urge to be sexual?
Or is he just pulling my leg? LOL

Well. yeah....some folks do identify as asexual. It's a concept outside of my comfort zone. But, each to their own.

They just don't have any mojo, whether by genetic design or some cataclysmic occurence I don't know, but neither seems bothered my it.

They just want to carry on a quiet bachelor's life and not raise a family.

For a while I thought they were trying to pull the old Tony Curtis routine like in the movie Some like it Hot with Marilyn Monroe.  (That's where he acted disinterested hoping that a shapley gal like Marilyn would rise to the challenge to "convert" him.), but enough time has passed to convince me that their disinterest is genuine.

Also, for what it's worth, I know at least one gal who falls into the same catagory.  Not gay, mind you, just totally disinterested in sexual activities.

Dear Trooper2,
I doubt your friend is pulling your leg. For whatever reason, he's just not interested in sex. Yes, it's possible. The reason may be manifold - repression of sexual feelings due to childhood sexual abuse, low testosterone count, outright depression, anhedonia, living in the closet with an ambiguous sexuality OR gender identity - who knows? But yes, it's natural in the sense that it does occur in humans, albeit rarely.

Luckily that's not you, is it,
