Seems to me this "barrage of scurrilous attacks" is really nothing more than a balancing act to counteract the barrage of sycophantic fawning emanating from the starboard side of the forum. Or is it starstruck?
I see absolutely no difference in dynamic to when the righties are having conniption fits over the Clintons, Obama, and Al Franken. And more recently, Joe Biden. (Al Franken??? Oh Come Now!)

Truth be told, I did take a 6 month break from this forum because I was burned out. Spent more time on my trike, less time at the computer. Really good trade-off too
An interesting notion, Bizzy... but my trike would definitely give me the unfair advantage. Guarantees the NASCAR/gearhead crowd for sure, and they tend to come out of YOUR side of the equation
There is one hurdle that might be tough for either of us to overcome however... with almost 100 reviews between the two of us, Elliot Spitzer would look like a choir boy by the time the media was done with us.
On the serious side however, I have to say the notion of Palin as a working mom etc etc etc... that's a tough row to hoe, so to speak. Sexism vs. Feminism vs. Motherhood vs. Serving Her Country - almost sounds like a wrestling match Vince McMahon would think up.
I think its a shame they are falling so quickly to carve her up using gender. It is a tactic that if pursued, will almost surely backfire on them.
If there had not been a double standard, then why wasn't John F Kennedy ever questioned about whether he would choose Country over Kin, or not? With young children in the White House.
Bill & Hillary had a young Chelsea in the White House. Noone ever ... well, ok, lets not open up that right wing excuse for a rampage... that would hijack this thread faster than Cheney wants to bomb Iran.
There are many legitimate concerns over Sarah Palin, her political stances, her experience, etc. etc. But to focus on her motherhood as a NEGATIVE towards her fitness for the office of Vice President is simply put, wrong.
