They absolutely are the worse paper in NY.

So the NYT poorly researches a story so that they can gleefully report that Gov. Palin belonged to a secessionist group as recently as the 1990's. Now it turns out that the source for the story got her "facts wrong" and the group has no record of Palin or her husband ever having been a member.

Well, we all know that reporters get it wrong sometimes. Just ask Dan Rather. So now I am waiting for them to issue the well deserveed mea culpa and admit they got it wrong. Hasn't happened yet. In the meantime though, the Times did find time to make a minor correction on another story. Apparently a caption under a picture in a story about Obama identified an object as a "leapard beating stick". The Times, a bit red in the face, issued a correction stating the object is in fact a "tiger beating stick", since there are no leopards in Kenya where the picture was taken.

I think we can all agree that properly identifying a tiger stick is far more important than confessing to an unabashed attempt to smear the Republican nominee for Vice President.

I take second to nobody in the Worthless Trash Masquerading As Objective Journalism Derby!

There aren't any tigers in Kenya.  Tigers are an asian animal.

So they got it wrong twice. It is actually a "lion beating stick". And still I wait with baited breath for a retraction on the blatant lies told about Gov. Palin.

"The information in the Times article was based on a statement issued Monday night by Lynette Clark, the party’s chairwoman, who said that Ms. Palin joined the party in 1994 and in 1996 changed her registration to Republican.

On Tuesday night, Ms. Clark said that her initial statement was incorrect and had been based on erroneous information provided by another member of the party whom she declined to identify."
