...a construct of religion and society and actually is counter to our natural instincts.  I am poly amorous meaning that I can love several women.  The idea that we have one partner for life does not work well and there is a heavy toll of  guilt and emotional turmoil that is experienced by many as the result of trying to adhere to a monogamous philosophy when our basic impulse is contrary.  Most of my relationships have been "open" and I have a lot less drama than others.

Statistically around 80% of guys active and long time members in the hobby are currently married or in a relationship. How would you deal with finding out through text messages, emails or web history that your wife/SO has seen and continues to see male providers behind your back?  I have a lady friend who's married who knows I hobby and I'm divorced who confided to me that she recently started seeing younger studs and is having some of the best sex in her life. She said she loves her husband but its not the same when you pay for it, its better... Ironic isn't it!

Good for her...

I am coming full circle to accept the possibility that sex may have not been meant to be monogamous.

with no more guilt (and perhaps less, considering health consequences) of a good meal, or any enjoyable pastime.

But, for myriad and complex reasons, it has tons of baggage connected to it that messes up a lot of fun for all.

Maybe it's an inevitable part of the human condition, but maybe some day we'll gravitate towards a more enlightened society where two people can act on their attraction to each other without everyone's panties getting bunched up.
