maybe Senator Lott is still busy composing birthday greetings to the late Senator Thurmond. Hope his next set of well-wishing is scripted, as his off-the-cuff remarks  back in 2002 really proved disastrous to him at the time.

Still, i think Lott did get a raw deal then.  He was only trying to say something nice about a tired old dinosaur whose time had so obviously passed.  And just look what he got for his touubles!
