Palin- I am concerned

for my fellow democrats. My wife dragged me to church yesterday. I got to tell you that Palin was all the talk and I was shocked, SHOCKED I tell you to report that the churchies like this pick.

What many of the talking heads fail to realize is that when the churchies get fired up they vote. And they were NOT fired up about McCain b4 Friday. But this pick may just do to Obama what all the Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers connection stories have yet to do and that is to fire up the conservatives to go out and vote for McCain.

I noted that Obama picked up a few points in the the daily polls today. But I'm not buying the talking heads wisdom that the public is turning against McCain because of Palin. We all know the churchies have historically under-polled and tend to fly under the polling radar for a host of different reasons.

We need Obama to win. Rich people need to pay more. Taxes are too low. Our troops should be in barracks polishing their boots and/or filling sand bags in Louisiana. I want free health care for everyone just like they have in England... This Palin pick may turn out to make this a horserace. With all the trouble our country is in Obama should be walking away with this. I've sunk a zillion $$ into Moveon.org and I want some results damn it!

We need to really go after this woman. If the pregnancy thing doesn't do the trick, I'm thinking somebody needs to look into the rumor I'm starting that she is actually a certified transexual- a chick with a dick! You know she hunts, she fishes, plays sports...and have you seen the size of her hands???? And we all know what big hands mean on a "chick" indicates...yea, let's try that one next.

However, the sports books won’t start taking bets until after the RNC.  Frank (Lefty) Rosenthal gives McCain a 5 point lead and said that spread will vary daily until the election but he will probably end up with a 5 point lead. Lefty Rosenthal is one of the most skilled odd makers in the history of Vegas.  He is a registered Democrat, retired and living in Florida. He said he would personally like to see Obama win because he is a Democrat.  He went on the say setting the odds on a contest has to be very accurate because a couple of points off in either direction could cost the casino millions of dollars.  Rosenthal has picked the winner and the point spread in every presidential election he has handicapped. Rosenthal was portrayed by Robert DeNiro as Sam Rothstein in the movie Casino.  He was also connected with the Chicago and Kansas City mobs but I don’t know if that has anything to do with predicting the winner.  He might know something about Obama that might sink him, but that is pure conjecture on my part.

I heard it on a local radio station.  The program was about figuring the odds, the point spread and betting on sporting events.  The program was broadcasted from Las Vegas.  Lefty Rosenthal was one of the guests.  However his interview was not live.  It was prerecorded at his home in Florida.

there has been a betting line out on the election for months now. Virtually all the books use the money line not a "point spread" for any action they take on political events.

Right now the line is somewhere around +160 McCain. I have seen lines as high as -600 Obama with comeback of +400 McCain just a month or so ago when Zin and I bet. Just goes to show you how quickly things change and how worthless early polls are.

BTW for any of you looking for a long shot, you can still get action on Ron Paul at about 100-1. Personally, I think you are better off playing the lottery. lol

I thought that "No Way" whining  Eli would never stand up to those Patriots..However,he fought much harder than they did until the very end.. He proved me wrong by far.. Vegas lost big on that one ..I'm still apologizing on the same...
One thing really good ,"maybe" about this election is that maybe, just maybe we will see,  "maybe" the highest scoring turnout  ever with a  record breaking number of voters.. 75% would reach that plateau by far.Kind of sad though,as that still wouldn't put us anywhere near the top 20 of free nations and voter participation...Quite apathetic for all the whining out there.....IMO
So like I said before , this election is all about who gets out and votes,or not?..
My bet says, one side or the other is going to shock the pollsters and its not going to be close like some very recent elections..

Disclaimer:Basing on past performances is not a guarantee of the future...Maybe, but I wouldn't bet on the 75%.
Now thats hope!!
