....is there a restaurant you would you suggest for a lady who (unless she has a cocktail or dinner date planned) wants to enjoy dinner at the bar? Not looking to find a date, but to have a great meal. I prefer local, and seafood. No chains, please.
In addition, a few years back, I found a wonderful "vintage" store of sorts. All the clothing was new, but had been created from old sewing patterns from the forties and fifties.
I would prefer to receive information regarding restaurants via pm.

Alla Spina, Osteria, Strangeloves and Memphis if you like craft beer.
Village Whiskey has a great burger.

After a session in CC I walked up to Vernick Food and Drink and found a seat at the bar around 9 p.m. Great meal and attentive bar staff.
If that hadn't of worked I would have gone to Smith & Wollensky a block or two east and south on Rittenhouse Square. Very savvy bar staff and decent food, if you like steak.
If that hadn't worked I would have gone across the square to Parc. If that hadn't worked I would have walked north to Dandelion, etc., etc. etc. Eventually I would have a good meal.
But I would not recommend it for a woman dining alone.
Monks is perfectly fine for a woman dining alone, particularly if you find your way to the back bar. Also, just had the most awesome meal at Vernick. Early birthday dinner with my atf, we shared the 28oz dry aged sirloin. Ahhhmazing. The bar is just fine for a single woman. Also recommend Le Cheri. Bar does not require reservations.
