It was a good question and considerate. I've seen other top-flight providers, such as yourself, offer special rates too at different times of the year.  I like the idea of extended time in lieu of $ discount though. That time could be put to better use than a few bucks back in my pocket. But I'm not a cheapskate like others constantly complaining about rates either.

Hey guys and gals,

Would love your advice on this? Does giving a "special" for the holidays make one look like they are actually giving you a gift or trying to get more responses? I am NOT the latter of the two; but wanted your advice as to this subject.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Feliz Navidad, Happy Kwanza, Happy Holidays everyone!

Love,

Kelly

And Happy Festivus btw. I don't celebrate all those other bogus holidays.

I thought I was going to add a Scroogian cast to your post but somebody really beat me to the punch.

Holiday specials are just a marketing ploy IMHO. If you want to be in the Christmas spirit give your friends some small gift; e.g. home baked cookies or a Rolex - something that has meaning. Or add extra time? Some how that seems almost tangible and gift like.

Or you could serve eggnog. Cheers

Thanks for ya all's thoughts! I'm the one that would really like a Rolex,  LOL!  I think adding the extra time for my established clients is a great idea!
Thanks again and I'm sorry I offended any of you.  That certainly wasn't my intention!

Ya all be safe and please be happy! Life is too short not to be!

Love,

Kelly

I wasn't offended :-) I think providing extra time is a considerate gift. Maybe even a special outfit or a new playful trick during play time for established friends.

Happy Holiday's :-*

..especially about us "less affluent" mongers. I got the pink slip last year which forced me into early retirement. Now the only time I see pink is my birthday, Father's Day, and Christmas. I've been saving six months for my "personal" Christmas present this year.  I perceive a Holiday special as an act of kindness and compassion; qualities I appreciate in a provider.

And I agree that additional time is just as meaningful as a break on the rate.

But you can keep the eggnog since I will be "driving" home afterwards.

Kelly is a terrific and sensitive provider. At her rate, time with her is a bargain whether it is a Xmas special or not.

In the past, I have offered specials, with a choice of a discount, OR extended time, the clients choice. Some
took the savings, some took the extra time. Some have more cash than time, others have more time than cash, but all got what they wanted and left with a smile.
For December clients, I am offering a discount that will continue throughout 2015, so it is more than just a marketing tool, as the savings will continue. It helps both ways.
However someone wants to take it, as always, it is the thought that counts.
I hope everyone has a great Holiday Season!

I do provide special sessions... (e.x. strawberries with chocolate, wine, special outfits and more) but not money related... LOL This girl needs to pay bills and student loans LOL
I will post some specials and will be visiting Philly soon!
