Not sure if this will be posted since I'm new, but TER suggested that I use the discussion board. I'm too embarrassed to go into the details, but being new at this and too trusty, I had a girl take my money (through an accomplish) and not deliver any services. She posted on Williamsport backpage--I'll put the link down below. The scam was pretty obvious that, as a novice, I even should have known to back out.
...but it does happen. There are a lot of resources if you are new to the hobby - take some time to review the best practices and avoid the low end ad boards. TER is great if you have some experience and significantly reduces the chances of being scammed - I suggest P411 or another whitelisting service to better protect yourself. Personally - I think people use backpages because its less expensive - but with most everything in life, you get what you pay for... if you want cheep, you are likely to get cheep - if you want a beautiful escort to spend time with, you need to pay for their time.
Sorry to hear about your experience. You can reduce your risks in the future by learning how to sue Google Image Search. In this case you would have discovered that those pictures are used all over the country with different names and different phone numbers. A definite red flag. Also the phone number has a limited history.
You might consider writing a "rip off" review. Although publishing on this on the board is useful, it has a pretty short shelf life. Better (imho) to write a full review and get it in the data base.
Do your due diligence, and stay safe.
