Ingram was certainly deserving. Indeed, all 5 were. I

thought Gerhart would win it, and in fact he almost did!  Indeed, I really think the fact that Alabama made it to the championship game helped Ingram in the voting, but in any case, Ingram's #'s were outstanding and speak for themselves.  For the record, McCoy was third and Suh fourth.

Alabama running back wins first Heisman for Alabama in the closest voting ever.  Ingrham wins by 28 votes over Gearhart, the second place finisher.  Apparently Suh was third, McKoy fourth, and Tebow was fifth.  Congrats to the new winner, the third consecutive sophmore to win.

Might have been a little West Coast bias, but well deserved winner.

If there was a West Coast bias Gerhart would have won and should have won.  He had more yards and more touchdowns that Ingram.
On Thursday voters got it right in picking Gerhart for the Doak Walker Award as the nation's best running back over Ingram, but the Heisman voters got it wrong.

if the Browns have first pick in NFL draft, or Detroit, if it's the Lions (he's a Flint, Mi. native). I think Alabama's sports information department sold the Heisman voters on the fact 'Bama did not have a previous winner. My choice would have been Ingram or McCoy. Suh lacked national exposure, along with being strictly defense, while expectations for Tebow were beyond the mortal realm, IMHO.

Correction: make that Gerhart and McCoy.

Yeah, Ingram's a sophomore, but if he stays healthy, he should be the first pick next year (2011), at least the first running back.

Cleveland and Detroit are not in the contention right now.  St. Louis would get the first pick over Tampa Bay based on strength of schedule. If the Rams can run the table with losses to the Texans, Cards and 49ers they'll draft first.
