Good thing for him he opened fire on liberals who were unarmed.

Who could have sent him to his maker. He'll probably get sent to some cushy mental hospital for a few years until he gets "better".

If the asshole wants to go to heaven, or paradise, or wherever his fairy tale beliefs tell him he is going to go after death, I think we should buy him a ticket. This is not political, this is a whack job that needs to be "put down". I'd gladly pull the switch.

I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that you are going to heaven, the bad news is that you are going "right fucking now" lol

He apparently is anti church, at least anti Christian church. That sounds like a pseudo to me.

Whether it be Christian, Islamic, or whatever. It is an extreme example of religious intolerance, not at the church level, but at an individual level.

Many if not most very religious people are very intolerant of others beliefs or lack thereof. In fact the more fervent the believer the less tolerant he will be. This is as extreme an example as you can get. Others don't share his narrowminded beliefs so he kills them. You can't get anymore extremr than that. It's the same thing we fear from Islamic terrorists, unfortunately they don't have a monopoly on religious nutjobs, this just proves it beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Nice rant there, G-squared. They only prove that you're as intolerant, narrow-minded, and bigoted as you accuse the "religious right" of being. We have the same right to profess our beliefs as you do. Speaking of heaven, I don't think the "religious nutjob" that killed those folks qualifies for admission. And, finally, how do you justify comparing organized religion here with Islamic terrorists? The last time I checked, no one here has ever flown airplanes into buildings, or strapped bombs to the bodies of children and sent them into markets and town squares. But that's just me. And now, I await your diatribe.

but Christians history of killing those that don't share their faith is well documented. This entire hemisphere was conquered by invading Christians who justified their genocide of the indigent population by simply labeling them "godless heathens".

I know you will argue that this was long ago, but if you require more recent examples, the killing of doctors who perform abortions, while not on the scale of genocide or flying airplanes into buildings, those doctors are just as dead and their families mourn just as much as the families of those in the World Trade Towers on 9-11-2001.

You have every right to express your beliefs, but I can't think of a single example of an atheist killing a christian because of his beliefs. I do believe in freedom of religion, I just wish those of you who are religious would grant me "freedom from religion" in return.

gee Gambler, I hope you don't mind, but i'm totally with you on this.

Oh, I grant you your freedom from religion. It was never my intent to force my beliefs on you.  That's your decision and I respect that. As to the conquerors of many centuries ago, just because it was done "in the name of religion" doesn't necessarily make it so. I don't support abortion because I feel it's murder, but I also don't support killing doctors who perform abortions. They are working within the law, whether I agree with the law or not. As to a woman's right to choose, I support that as long as it doesn't involve taking another life. I gudgingly accept abortion in the case of rape or incest, however. So I guess I'll be off (in more ways than one) and until next time, Roll Tide!!!

A gun may aide the person to kill. A religion may aide them as well, but in the end it is a twisted individual (at least in the last 300 years or so) not a religion that fostered the killing.

A church shooting today in Knoxville has claimed the lives of two worshipers.

The Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike in Knoxville was attacked by Jim Adkisson, a Powell resident, 58, a retired truck drive who lived alone and ‘hated Christianity‘, according to his neighbors.

Otherwise, he was kind and helpful.

He used a shotgun, and was subdued by church members when he stopped to reload.

The FBI was investigating, in case this was a ‘hate crime’. Funny that; all murder is hate. And, Christians aren’t on the leftist’s ‘protected’ list.

“He had his own sense of belief about religion, that’s the impression I got of him,” said neighbor Karen Massey. “We were talking one day when my daughter graduated from Bible college, and I told him I was a Christian, then he almost turned angry.

“He seemed to get angry at that.”
