Meet and Greet
Having never been to a M&G, could anyone fill me in on some minor details?
Location: Likely to be a 5 star hotel ballroom or a 3 star convention center?
Attire: Ballgown, cocktail dress, jeans?
Schedule: An hour of cocktails, seated dinner, followed by a few hours of mingling or open bar all night and dancing till dawn?
Is there a rough estimate of how many people usually attend these mixers?
Do most arrive with a date (or...ahem... an escort...
) or solo?
Is there a discreet code of ethics (no envelopes flying randomly) or is there an expectation for one to be available?
Forgive me if this has been covered before or if these questions are better handled privately. I'm just trying to figure out what I might expect! Other than meeting a lot of new and interesting people, that is.
